I finally got to the strip today. Frist run 15.838 2nd 15.751 3rd 15.677 4th 15.627 5th and the best run of the day was(15.606) . 6th 15.781 7th 15.819 8th with the autostick 15.902.The last runs car was getting hot and the track was getting slick. Every body was going slower at the end. The best runs is when I power braked to 2,700 to 2,800 rpm. My R-T were a slow of 1.591 to best .600 seconds. I was disappointed with the auto stick the were the slowest times of the day. It went a lot faster by just leaving it in drive and stepping on it.I well try to get to the track 1 more time this year Now that I have a better idea how to launch the car. :D :D :D :)

Firstly, do yourself a favour and don't kill your car.
Secondly, without any science to support me, I would imagine that if you practice using the Autostick and found the precise second to shift, your results may improve. No guarantees, though.
The Autostick was not designed to make the car perform any better but to provide a 'sportiness' feeling for the driver, and assist in slowing the car when approaching curves, red lights or stop signs. (eases wear and tear on the discs).
I do sometimes feel that once moving, and then a sudden shot of the gas pedal, will accelerate the car faster than playing with the shifter.
Anyhow, keep your car well and let us know if your times improve!

Manually shifting the Autostick doesn't allow the driver to extend the shift rpm over what the transmisison does in drive. With the high rpm performance of the LH engines, times might improve slightly if the shift occurs at higher rpm, but this can't be done manually.

Sometimes leaving the Autostick in first and NOT manually shifting will allow the engine to wind up a few 100 rpm more before it shifts, sometimes not. This technique will allow faster shifts than if the driver tries it manually. It 'may' give slightly lower acceleration times.

Cool times there Spook. Pretty close to what I get, you beat my best time though. I guess the mods you have are helping. My car seems to be faster when I use autostick though, so that's kinda weird. Guess I'll have to give drive another try. What were your 60' times like? Mine are always 2.41-2.45. Just wondering if the smaller front tires helped your 60' times at all. Also, what kind of trap speeds were you getting? I average mig to high 89's. Hit 90.0 once.

bboucher My 60 were 2.403 to 2.298. Trap speeds 88.06 to 89.82 mph. I still had a lot of wheel spin off the line. The track wasnt the best. I only felt i hooked up once really good. And that time i got my lowest ET. I dropped the air in the front tires to 25 psi. That helped a little bit with the wheel spin, next i think i well drop it a little more.
