back in 93 to what.. 96? certain colours were available.. and some had fogs.. the es models.. and the "base" models did not. No special differences, both models came with the 3.3 or 3.5, as my base single tone painted intrepid has a 3.5 and highline package.

Its just a matter of what year your intrepid is. I noticed myself that a lot of the intrepids with trim are 3.3L as oposed to the 3.5 L ones. The fog lights became standard in all intrepids in 1996 i believe. Some of the other little things you may notice are just DC's attempt at making each year look a little different. check out this site to get some more background on your car.

Yeah, I personally hate that lower cladding on my car. When the money comes around I'm gonna take it off and paint the rest of it (that I cant take off) black to match the car. Mmmmm....

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I noticed you have a Fiero. Nice to have another Fiero owning member here. :D I have an '88 coupe.

On the older first gens, I think mostly the Es's have the differently painted cladding. And I happen to like that cladding too...wouldn't remove it.

Most older ES's have the lower body cladding and fog lights. Most base models dont have fogs or body cladding, but I think fogs were an option.

I don't think I've ever seen a red car with the cladding painted gray. Usually you only see it on the green or black intrepids.

I also like the cladding, I added a spoiler to my '96 ES, and had the body shop paint it to match the cladding, rather than the body color, the body shop owner was hesitant to do it, after the spoiler was on the car, he said I had swayed his opinion , that he'd recommend it to other owners in the future, I think the cladding adds a nice touch..

Hey, my friend has a '93 intrepid with the burgendy (I just call it purple, but to each his own) and the gray cladding and the fog lights. His dad bought it from the factory. they were just options. Hope that helps. If u want more info or a pic email [email protected]

It only looks purple if you dont take care of the exterior. Clean the car good and then put a few coats of wax on. Then it really looks red (and really good I might add).
