'99 Trep 3.2 that has apparently developed bad rod bearings, so....

One possibility is to get one out of a yard, at least for now.

I know the wiring / computer changed, but can't remember what year, was is '01 or '02.

Thx....

ok, I kinda thought '98 - '01 was the same, but the brain cells aren't co-operating as well as they used to.

Dealer said a re-man'd long block would be ~$3800 + ~ $1500 install and misc. components. Just got off the phone w/ a local machine shop, and they said $1600 tops. Would be completely rebuilt (pistons, rings, crank, bearings, etc & so on). I've used these guys before, they helped me a cast-iron sleeved block for my old Vega that ran 10:0 compression, dual Weber's and header.

Looks like I'm gonna get a beater for a couple of weeks and pull the engine myself.

Thx for the info...I'll let you guys know how this goes.
