Hey OTTO...

Just curious, do you know if your factory has a contract beyond 2003? Are you guys getting the next Gen Intrepid or any other future model from DC?

Also, was anything built in that plant before the Intrepid?

And why the heck do you guys in Canada figure out all that metric crap?? Just joking! :) I was gassing up my car in Niagara the other day and lost count after 27 litres!! :) (I love that exchange rate!!)

Yes we are getting the 2004 LX that replaces the LH cars. This is the rear wheel drive V8 cars ,start saving now. Yes we built the Eagle Premier ( remember that one ) when we were owned by AMC/Renault. We also had another plant in Brampton from 1961 to 1992 ( we built Ambassadors , Americans, Classics and Rebels in the 60's, in the 70's we built Hornets and Gremlins, in 1979-80 we built CJ Jeeps then Concord's and Eagle 4x4 cars in the 80's.Then from 87 -92 we built the Jeep Wrangler till the plant was closed in 92). ,then all those people transfered up to the new plant ,when we started LH models in fall of 92.
We use metric because most of the world now uses this form of measurment. You guys are the last holdouts using the inch. But I will buy your cheap gas and beer in any measurment you wish.Exchange rate ,yeah you like that . I dont. When I travel south every 100 U.S costs me about 150 Canadian -yikes.
Man you made the falls, you should have come a little more north and seen the plant . you were so close. Next time EH !!

does the Concorde from the 80s have any connection to the LH Chrysler Concorde? wasn't the 80s one an AMC? I thought AMC was owned by ford or gm.

Hey Otto...how is everything. Just wanted to say again how fortunate we all are to have our own 'factory rep' in this forum. Again thanks!! :D Now about the 'Tour'...I live in Cleveland, Oh...just a short drive..are there regular tours of your plant? If so how can they be arranged...if not...how can they be arranged!??

PS. How about a group tour...anybody up for a tour??

Hey Bart,no the Chrysler Concorde only shares the name with the AMC Concord ,with the DC name having a E at the end. As Chrysler bought out AMC they own all AMC names including the Jeep and Eagle brands. GM or Ford ?- NO AMC was an independent auto manufacture, then was bought by Renault in the early 80's,and then bought by Chrysler in 1987. Now we are owned by Daimler. Boy think about this I worked for an American(AMC) ,French(Renault),American(Chrysler), and now German(Daimler)Company.

bgz9130 -Hey ,things are great, just enjoying the first of two weeks summer vacation .We don't have regular scheduled tours but anytime you want to see the place drop me a line and I can set one up for . As employee's are allowed to bring guests in for tours.

Hey Otto, What series of Chrysler cars are going back to rearwheel drive/V8's? Have you heard if a Police package car is in the works from Chrysler? That would be great. They have gotten back into NASCAR, now maybe they will get back into the Police market.

Brampton is close to Toronto I'm pretty sure...it's about a good 5-6 hour drive from Windsor/Detroit area. It would take me about 9-10 hours from Long Island...but I'll go if we all meet!!

Brampton is just north of Mississauga, in Toronto's far west end. It would be safe to say that Brampton to Windsor is no more than 5 hours, maybe as few as 4 hours. Watch for cops and watch for tractor trailers, especially between Guelph and Mississauga. These guys are full of road rage and don't care if they tail you at 70 MPH. The Intrepids are large cars but no match for Mack Trucks.
For me in Ottawa, it is a good 4.5 hours.
