Hey Folks,
was wonder if anyone has removed the last resinator (looks like a second muffler) on their exhaust. If you have, did you get a little more sound and did it help with flow? Was thinking I might do that first before going all in on the Tru-bend type mod. Appreciate your views and experience... AK

from all research i have done, not much gains from just exhaust, can adjust the sound factor, not a huge HP advantage though

dude, what system was that? i like the sound
They are APC dual 4" mufflers on BOTH sides. SO, that makes 4 tips total. Here is a pic of a similar one.

The things to know about exhaust are
1. the larger the opening(tip) the deeper the tone
2. the less restriction in the system the LOUDER it will be,
3. but TOO little restriction will cause it to sound crackly and nasty.

To get the best tone, keep your catallitic(sp) converter ON, and remove thesecond to last muffler/resonator and everything from there back. Then start your exhaust system from there.

Much as I like TruBendz their standard offering won't really help with the flow or increase power by much. I think the only thing that really helps with that is going to 3" single mandrel bend tubing around the gas tank instead of the 2.5" single stock piece. The 300M Special has a great system designed for the 3.5L HO. Info about the Special system can be found here: http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43204

My modified system along with sound clips can be found here: http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/forums/showthread.php?t=38734
Dyno runs before and after exhaust (see posts #51 & #63): http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/forums/showthread.php?t=35074

Some guys have gone to a "true dual" set-up running 2.25" all the way back. If you go this route I suggest getting an X-pipe and installing it about halfway between the down pipes and the gas tank. I didn't like that set-up because it makes the exhaust uneven in length ...
