What was the first car you ever owned? What was the first car you bought new?

First car I ever owned- 1967 Buick Wildcat with a 4 barrel 430 cubic inch gas slurper. Also had a 26 gallon gas tank and I needed every gallon it could hold.

First car I ever bought new- 1986 Chevy Cavalier. Also the first car I ever really hated. Mostly called a Crapalier by me after I owned it for a year. Luckily it got stolen and wrecked and I was never so thrilled.

1981 chevy stepside 8ft bed pickup powered by a 250 inline 6 producing a whopping 155hp. this truck had about 275,000 miles when i started driving it and 3 years later it had 297,000. it still runs, i know the guy my dad sold it to. the perfect first vehicle...character, reliable, not too fast, practical, not worth stealing or robbing, low maintenance costs and great for a high school parking lot.

First Car was a 1988 Rosewood Dodge Aries 5-speed, oh man was that car a sleeper! Other cars used to line up with me and I would blow anything with a 4-banger out of the water, as for V-6's, I would get smoked =( (Stratus comes to mind)

First new car is my 2002 Intrepid R/T, don't get many races though 'cause I think everyone is intimidated.

I got you all beat for shittiest first car:

1986 Hyundai Excel Rally Sport sedan. Whopping 67hp and 100lb/ft from a 1.5L 1bbl carb'ed 4 banger.

That piece of **** got me through my last year of high school and first of college. I drove it like it was a Ferrari (meaning extremley hard) and I ended up punching a rod through the block.

Ahhh memories. :)

I basically 'owned' my moms `90 Ford Escort all through highschool and when i was 18 I bought a 1965 Ford T-bird for $2300 and rebuilt the 390 300HP eng for $2000 I worked my ass off for that car and loved every bit of it(working/driving) got waves and thumbs-up everywhere I went(even from guys who had awesome classics) I felt like part of some club...It broke down often and needed a reliable car so i bought a `92 Chevy Cavalier at RK in VA Beach for a little over $5000 it ran great until lat Dec 2000 I was in 'A' school and just had a baby 5 months prior and knew the Cav would die soon and wouldn't make the 600 mile trip home-also needed a safe 4dr auto as the Cav was a 2dr stick, for the baby Always wanted an Intrepid since it came out in 98 and TOLD my wife I was getting one got a great deal 2 days before grad on a 2000 2.7L silver w/42000miles on it for only $13300-been in love ever since
sorry so long

My first car cost me $2500. It was a 1992 Plymouth Sundance Duster. Automatic with a V6 3.0. Man, that car was quite fast. I used to fly in that car. Until I flew into a deer :(

I bought the car with 112,000 miles and when i smashed it, it had 153,000 and was still running good. I miss it alot!

first car I owned was a 73 roadrunner, big beast of a car with a tiny 318 under the hood, it had the TF727 transmission which I shiftkitted and the bulletproof mopar 8-3/4" rear end

the guy I bought it from used to have a built 440 in it an dhad pictures of the car with the front end about a foot in the air launching at the track, but when he blew the motor he couldn't afford to replace it and that's how I ended up with the 318

great car though, looked tough as hell with the keystone classics on all four wheels and cooper L-60's in the rear, of course something would break about once a month forcing me to teach myself car repairs..

First car for me was a 91 geo prizm, 1.6 4 cyl and I was racing mustangs on the highway, hell the speedometer only went to 85 lol, bought that car for 400 bucks ( hellz yes!) then some screwball hit my back end, they totaled the car out, got 3 grand back from the guys insurance for it, and bought my intrepid... bad thing about my intrepid, I paid 5.5k 83k miles on it, she was in good shape, but I put 2400 down on the car and my payments are 150 a month for 4 years..... there going to make alot of money off me    makes me want to cry when I was looking through the paper and saw the 26.6% APR, which they never told me about when I went for the loan, they just told me my payments would be 150 a month for 4 years, teaches me:
1. Read forms better instead of being so excited about having a car that actually shines when its washed.
2. Don't take out a loan from Ford motor credit, there a buncha blood sucking ...holes who take advantage of people.....

Spyder

My first was a 1985 Dodge Lancer ES Turbo. It had the TI 2.2L turbo and an automatic transmission. It had terrible turbo lag. It was a two foot operation to get that thing to 60 quick.

I still haven't bought a new car, damn student loan payments!

My first car that I owned was a 1990 Dodge Spirit 4-door Manual transmission. I loved that little car. Although I did drive both a chevy citation hatchback and a '82 white Buick Regal in High School. I did put the Spirit throgh two transmissions though before I decided that it should not come back from the dead again.
Here is a little pic of it, just the back though..
