Just out of curiousity (since I've been asked this question a lot these past few days)....what is the wattage on the factory fog lights? I have looked everywhere I can think of, and had no luck.

Doesn't even say in the users manual (so don't tell me to RTFM )...

55w, they are 55w H3 type bulbs, I finally found a couple bulb sites that confirm this

Well, the ones I got use 55w, but are designed to look like 85w....and let me tell you, they do look much brighter

anyone know offhand the wattage for the foglights in the 1st gen cars?

Same wattage. 55W for standards. I put 100W in there. Was pulled over. only us them in bad weather now.

actually,
my books at work say the stock ones are 35W.
i put 55W Xenon filled ones (those super white ones to match my low and high beam) in place of the OE ones and my fog light deflectors (that piece that sits directly in front of the bulbs) are now kinda yellow from heat buildup

but at 70 bucks a lens i wont be replacing them anytime soon. unless a wrecker has a decent set for sale at a decent price.
too bad i cant get JUST that little deflector.

for any headlight 55 at dim and 65 at bright are legal...anything higher is illegal
