I also read another article that listed the states that "cost the highest" to own a car. They factor in car price, gasoline price, but most importantly... insurance. And guess what... Michigan was number one. I was wondering why, now I know. High theft rates. Good ole NJ was number 2. New York was number 8. I think Mass. was number 3.
The boonie states like Alabama, NC, Vermont, were some of the lowest.
