Hey man, I don't mean to sound like I'm busting your balls, but I honestly don't really see you getting $800 for this system. Here's why...

*What kinda MB is it?
*Athlon 600MHz...kinda slow by today's standards.
*And are you sure it's an Athlon, or could it be a Duron.
*12.6 GB hard drive...Again, kinda small by today's standards.
*Acer Atapi CD-R/RW drive (internal)...Kinda really low end.
*Iomega Zip drive 100 MB, parallel port (external)...Who needs one when you've got a cdrw? (believe me I know...I still have an LS-120 drive)
*VooDoo 3Dfx 32-bit graphics card...Which model?
*14" Packard Bell monitor w/ attached monitor speakers...Packard Hell, enough said.

Again, I don't mean to sound like I'm busting your balls. But I think ya gotta be a little more realistic. Seriously...most of us on here could build this system for under $400. If you go to www.dell.com you can build a system for less than you're asking.

PS...The dvd drive and the wireless Logitech kb/mouse are pretty phat.

i was gonna say something like that but i didnt want to get people all pissy for "dissin" their asking price. Cuz i know here you can get a puter with a 1.5Ghz processor and 30gb of hard drive or whatever the hell (im not computer smart) for under $800

PS-one good thing though is he has a zip drive and a DVD player.

I can understand both your reasons. I only set a high price in order to able to bargain with a lower offer. I am not fixed on $800, neither do I expect to get it. I have a pretty well set price in my head, not the $800.

As for the Zip drive, it has pretty much saved my life on more than one occasion. The good think about Zips is they are poratble, the drive can be routed to any other machine and saving, copying, and deleting files is much faster and more user friendly. CD-ROMS to me are more for backup, which a Zip does very well. Being completely truthful, in the 3-4 years I have used a Zip, I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER had a disk go bad or act up on me, they are very dependable.

I have also neglected to mention some not so legal software I have gotten through work that is fully operational on this machine. Those programs are:

Adobe Photoshop 5.5
Adobe Illustrator 8.0
Adobe Premiere 4.2
Windows 2000 Office
Windows 98 Millenium Edition
IrfanView

I know it's not a large hard drive, but with all the programs, as well as all my artowrk, mainly print with a few animations and movies, I barely used more than 3GB's, leaving plenty room for the machine to breathe. I also have the option to back up my artwork and a regular basis to CD-ROM to save space.

The processor is an Athlon.

By MB, if you mean motherboard, it is a GA-7ZM KT133 chipset.

Plus the tower still offers plenty of expanion room.

Hey, if anyone wants to make an offer, I'm here to listen. I see your points and take no offense, just trying to see what kind of offers are out there.

no offense but you should be ashamed to sell a PC like yours to a family member for that price, even $650 is too high for what you are selling, items like 14" packard bell monitor w/attached speaker and PC Propad 6 Gamepad haven't been worth anything since the days before MMX technology

I understand where you're coming from, it's the Millenium Edition, but I currently am running 98 2nd edition. Don't get to frazzled, I am not trying to take advantage of anyone, especially family. If he has the money, good for me and him! Like I said, I'm just happy he's giving me what he is, I just want my Powerbook! :D
