I stumbled across this website that offers free ipods and was wondering if anyone else has ever tried it. It seems legit but I don't know, anyone out there have any experience with this?

Edit: The company running this thing is called gratis

Link?

It's usually a scam.
When approaching these type of offers, I find it's best to remember the old saying:
"if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is"

I've been to that site. I set up a dummy email account on yahoo, registered, and recieved 60 spam emails (viagra, penis enlargement, you've won this or that, etc) in 10 minutes.
Las time I checked that dummy account it was close to the 20 gig limit, and I haven't given the adress out to anyone else!

Don't do it.

And never give out your or anyone else's) real email account to anyone you don't know.

Cheers

I know Avenger I was considering doing that...then I realized I was a 19 year old college student with zero assets and an illegitimate income :icon_conf. The odds of me being elligible for the higher end credit cards that'll grant me entitlement to the ipod are as good as Bush getting a clue. Plus if I had a credit card I'd end up with a golden Trep and a red bank account....I need to get a job dammit.

Edit: By illegitimate income I didn't mean prostitution, so could you guys stop PM'ing me dammit

lol, I just have a cash job doing gardening and unfortunately my current bank account is with TD. lol, so I'm kind of stuck, it's cool though a friend of mine is selling a bunch of 30 gigs for $200 so I might jump on that. Thanks anyway though Avenger.

......even if you have an account with TD, you can switch another account over and still get the free iPod!

Lol. I had an nwe-405 from sony (sexy little thing) and unfortunately it took a trip through the washer and dryer...it still works...mostly...

Moral of the story:

It is never wise to attempt doing one's laundry at 5 in the morning after returning from a kegger.

I'm using my Ipaq right now, not bad but rather cumbersome.

Dude, I basically just switched bank accounts to a no-monthly fee account with TD ($3.45/month but free if you keep $1500 in the account).....and got a gold visa which gets me 1% cash back as well as an auto club membership (like CAA/AAA). They waved the $99 fee on the visa for me for the first year, and ordered me some cheques. PLUS the girl who set all of this up for me was HAWT! :hitit:

.......AND I get an iPod nano :biggthump

Hahaha, I saw that emoticon symbol thing and was wondering when anyone would ever use it on this board. I gotta say +rep points to you Avenger. I'm gonna go down and try to get a credit card and then perhaps cancel it after awhile so I don't have to pay the fees. I just need something to tide me over till I can get a new job.

I don't think you can qualify by just getting a credit card........what you should do if you don't already have another account is to open one with PC or something, wherever you feel like opening an account......and then transfer it to TD right after you open it.......qualifies you for an iPod shuffle. THEN apply for a TD gold Visa......and if you're approved, that then qualifies you for the nano. Just tell them to wave the $99 fee for the credit card for the first year.

Haha, I love that. Hey it's worth a shot. Now I wonder if it's worth the trouble...hmmm. Who'm I kidding? I'm a kid with time to burn. Thanks Avenger :fawkoff:

Yeah, I was considering renewing my CAA membership, they were offering it to me for under $50. HOWEVER since I now have this credit card that comes with an auto club membership, I don't need to :) My winter beater loves to be towed everywhere :p
