i recently had my car taken in for hard starting and they said it was my fuel pressure regultaor was leaking so they said they replaced it and had to take off the intake plenum they charged me $305 just wondering if u guys think that sounds about right cuz i didnt think they needed to take off the intake plenum to get to it the part was $89 and $78 an hour

If it's a 3.5l, yeah, you do need to take off the plenum to get to the fuel regulator.

The fuel regulator is located on the passenger side fuel rail, so you have to partially disassemble the passenger side fuel rail too.

By removing the plenum, you can get to lots of parts that you can't usually get to (Inner Tie Rod, EGR valve, plug wires, etc.)

yeah i just did it myself about a month ago and you do have to remove the plenum and part of the fuel rail. It cost me approx 80 for the regulator and a full set of gaskets at Autozone. It took a couple hours to do with trial and error (the gasket wasnt set properly :( )
