Yes. Especially the folks from out of town. We could eat (lunch?), meet, and "cruise in" after that.

If there is one there, I haven't seen it. I believe the thought is that you "cruise in" to the show.

It's a relatively small venue; a small Atlanta suburb city who's Main Street (literally) is closed for the evening. Think smallish southern town jammed within the Atlanta suburbs. (The town was there long before the suburbs.) The railroad tracks (and closed? train depot) mark the southern border of the show.

We could always do a cruise by ourselves. There's a Sonic? drive-in within a mile. Or we could do mods somewhere in the area and drive over.

Hmmm a quick shot down 85 for me.... I'll see - I was really thinking about going to Pigeon Forge this weekend to relax but I'm only gonna do that if I can take a half day off work Friday and/or Monday.

For folks that want a slightly higher level of car show:
High Museum - Classic Car Caravan and Showcase
See 50 classic cars cruise up the Midtown Mile on Peachtree Street, and then park in front of the High. You'll get a chance to get up close to these rare classic cars and talk to their owners.

This event is FREE. I haven't been to see the exhibit at the museum and I won't guess that they're going to pull any cars from the current exhibit (see below), but the High Museum has just finished a three year exchange with the Louvre in Paris, so you know they aren't going to just gather up the best cars they can find in the nearest couple of counties. Neither will "rare classic cars" mean a Pinto with a Mitsubishi engine and Chevy paint. ;-)

This is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. this Saturday, May 8th. (The day of the Tucker cruise in.)

The museum is currently hosting:
High Museum - The Allure of the Automobile
The exhibition will present 18 of the world's rarest and most brilliantly conceived cars ranging from the 1930s to the mid-1960s, including masterpieces by Bugatti, Duesenberg, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Ferrari. These cars combine state-of-the-art engineering, meticulous craftsmanship and groundbreaking design to create works of "rolling sculpture."

This exhibit is NOT free. Adult tickets are $18 and include all current exhibits. There will be $5 discount coupons at the 10:00 a.m. cruise.

I will likely be at the Classic Car Caravan and might see the museum exhibit. Here's hoping the weather forecast for Saturday improves. 30309 10-day weather

anybody thinking of the "cruise in" ?
I'm planning to go the to see free "Caravan" at the High and later (even if only one other Intrepid owner will be there) I'll be at the Tucker Cruise In.

The weather forecast is looking really good now:

Approximately 1700 miles round-trip (about 28 hours RT).

Don't do it. Save it for a closer, bigger meet.

<slightly later>
Opps, I just looked at your sig. page. Maybe you should come after all. ;-)

I just talked with gearhead921. We'll meet at 5:00 in front of the registration table. Since registration will be starting then, let's say at the center of the street in front of the registration table.

Just so you know Tucker Day is held during the day tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. so expect some hustle and bustle especially if you come early.
