I have an 01 SE with the 2.7L engine. It has around 2300 miles on it. I've been checking the the gas mileage everytime I fill up, and I'm alittle disappointed with it. I'm getting around 23mpg right now. I've not been running it hard at all, just normal driving. The longest trip it's been on at one time is about 40 miles non-stop, the rest is 10 here 20 there, etc. A friend has an 00 SE 2.7L, and he gets around 25 on short trips, and 33 on long trips. Can I expect better mpg when it gets a few miles on it, or am I stuck with poor mileage? Also I'm thinking about adding after-market foglights. Does the SE's have the factory foglight wiring installed already that I can utilize, or am I going to have to run my own?

I have a 98 w/ the 2.7 and I usually only get around 23 mpg per tank, but most of that is short (around 1 mile trips) in town to work, but on a long trip i will get 30 - 33. And i have over 97k on the odometer.

as for the foglights, I'm almost positive that the SEs do not have the wiring for the foglights installed - I bought a set of remote foglights from Advance Auto Parts. The wiring was really easy because it came with all the harnesses and just needed one wire to ground, and other to the battery. Mounting the acual lights is a different story though... There isn't any easy way to get them to fit...

Im driving down to Philadelphia tomorrow. About 90-100 highway miles from my job in Manhattan. Im going to gas up before i go, and ill see if my mileage changes. If it doesn't... im gonna bring it in for service to have it checked out.

The money right now for gas isnt as big a deal as DJing is going quite well, but that can change at any time.
