Just got my new tires and wheels mounted to day and my springs came in on wed. I'll be putting on the tires this week end and I'm going to try to install the springs on monday. I've been waiting to do this for about a year. I thought that I would wait to get a year under the car before I start to play. Two days after I bought my car the local dealer had a new Intrepid sitting out front that had been fixed up by a local custom shop. Boy it looked great!!!! It had 18" wheels, Eibach spring ( before they stopped them) dual exhaust tinted windows and all the emblems removed. I thought that car would sell in a day but it sat for months. Maybe the $36,000.00 price was the problem. Well I still thought that it was one of the best looking cars I have ever seen, but I new I could do it for a lot less money so I now get to start on mine(and my wifes)!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I got the tires & wheels on but didn't have time to install the springs. I'm going to try this monday. BTW the new wheels and tires are great. Just for your info they are 255-45-18 Michelin Pilots and the wheels are made by ALT. They are their AT159's and are 18x8. They look so much better than the stock 16's. I also like the 255's because you still have some side wall left. The right is still very good and you don't bend up your wheels as easy like when you run smaller side wall tires. Yes you give up some performance but this is a street sedan not some sports car. I'll post pictures when I'm done

Hope you post some pics. I still haven't decided on what wheels I want, I know 18 but still undecided if chrome or alloy/silver.... Also how much of a drop will the springs give you?

The wheels I put on are a silver/alloy. I thought the chromes are a little to bright for my taste. The springs are from Dreamspeed and are a spring that they are letting me have to try. They are about 1.5-1.75 inch drop. After I install them we will try them out for drop as well as ride quality. We don't want a harsh ride, but these may be a little soft well have to see. If all works out he will be selling springs and swaybars for the car. His line up at this time is Stratus and Neon stuff.

I heard somewhere in these posts that there might be some transaxle problems if you lower the Intrepid. That is definitely not something you would want to do on a car that is still under warranty.

yeah, **** not just warenty, but Ive also heard if you do some mods like that without telling the insurance company then you can void your insurance.

OK Guys, If alll goes well I'll have the springss in on monday. I have a buddy that with at a shop and we were going to do it last monday but he had 3 cars show up with out appointments. And as he said "paying jobs come first" so we are shooting for this monday. Also this transaxle thing, well Performance West Group has a 300M with nitrous and has Intrax springs with 30,000 miles (hard miles) and has no problems. There is alot of talk about lowering these new LH cars. I posted a little info about this on the forum. (I think it was the general dis. forum)

Well I have the springs on. Looks great-but. There seems to be an axle vibration at times. I'm working with Intrax and Dreamspeed to solve this problem. Seems like some LH cars have this problem. HR said they fixed it with motor mount spacers. We are looking at this as a fix, also talked to mopar performance and they think this may be the fix also or stiffer mounts. Luckly for us the mounts are very easy to get to on this car. I'll keep all posted as we get more info. Also I'll post pictures as soon as I can get the wife to show me how to do all this web stuff!
