I was at the Mopars in the park car show today. My friend Al K. last year got a 1994 red Viper. With 12,000 miles for $38.000. He had it at the car show to day instead of his Indy Ram. We were talking about cars and he asked me if i every drove a Viper. I told him no but had sat in a few at the dealers. He said well it is about time i had and gave me the Viper keys. And he got into the passenger side. I just kind of stood there shocked and dumbfounded. He said get in lets go. I got in and started it. The clutch is a little heavy like my 1987 Shelby Daytona was. The Viper has the hard top on it. We pull onto the service that leads to hwy 13 iam going slow and moving the wheel back and forth too get use to the car. I take a left to go to down town Shakopee. As i get on to the Hwy Al tells me to punch it and watch out for the rear end wants to swing to the right. I step on it and dam we are gone i hit 55mph then shift into 2nd. And we are up to 105mph i shift into 3rd until 135 mph and a left off the gas. Man what a rush this thing is blast to drive. It Just push`s you back into the seat. We get into Shakopee a few miles down the road. Dam every is looking at you in this car. Big time Chick Car. I turn around and head back to the car show. At the last stop light out of town i am in the left lane in the front. Al said let her rip. Who am i to argue. The light turns green i drop the clutch about 2,500 rpms and man this thing lays rubber for about 50 feet and i hit 2nd gear. and the rear end breaks lose again lays more rubber. i let off at 85 mph and coast back down to 60mph. Al just laughs and said i looked like i just won a million dollars. Dam i said i got to get me one of these. i pull back into the show and park the Viper. I told Al man you just made this 40 year man very very happy. I thanked him about a dozen times. He told me if i come to the Car Craft car show later this year we can drive it around Porkeys after the show were every body street curiser`s. He is on the waiting list at White Bear Dodge fro the first Dodge SRT 10 Ram. He said if he gets it before Car Craft i can drive it instead. I said i well be there. The Viper does ride like a truck very stiff like my 1987 Shelby Daytona did . But it smooths out the faster you drive it. Steering is very nice and quick and the brakes are great.

Damn Kevin, a Viper! Did you feel kind of weird at first driving such a high power monster? I have been told that the Vipers are physically enormous cars, and well, did it feel like it? I know one thing for damn sure, they are faster than just meh sort of fast, they really cook!

Mark up another jealous DI.net member. Man, if I ever got to romp on a Viper like that, I'd have wood for a good 4 hours afterwards.

Drive a Z06 vette. All that power with real control. The viper is like a street whore(quick, dirty and can get you into a lot of trouble) the Vette is like a 5TH ave call girl(Sophisticated and can get you into alot of trouble)

If I'm not mistaken, that was part of the 1st-gen Viper's appeal. It was unapologetic about it's raw sensibilities.

My 1969 Cornet R/T with a 440 6-pack with 4.10 gears was hard to drive fast. With the training i had in Germany by the Secret Service. Driving very fast is pretty normal for me. If you have never driven a 400 hp + car before. Yea you can get into trouble real fast. If my MS was bad i would not drive a Viper fast. I hope Al gets his SRT 10 Ram by Car Craft so i get to drive it too. On a side note idid get 2nd Place at the car show.
