One of the things i always wanted in my trep was a Handbrake. The footpedal does nothing but dig into my shin and it's a bugger to get to to press anyhow. I know it's not necessairy as all it will do is allow me to chew up my rear tires more but it's something i've always wanted.

I did some snooping and found this. Looks to be a universal unit. Also has the option for a cable instead of hydraulic (that's what we'd need to use right?) Anyhow. What do you guys think? Where could it be mounted? I was thinking of getting rid of the cup holder and having this extend out the passenger half. That would cut into the center console a bit but still..

A friend of mine said to look for other cars/vehicles with similar interior dimensions that HAVE handbrakes. Maybe the console area could be modified to fit to our dash. Creative answers are appreciated. Flaming will be tolerated as this is kind of a dopey idea :p

How big is that hand brake kit? From the picture it looks too bulky for the Intrepid.
Most cars that have hand brakes as stock usually have them beside the shifter, or behind it where our cd/storage compartment would be.

Here's some pics of hand breaks installed: (These are random finds from the internet)

This Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster has the handbrake to the left side of the driver seat:

I miss hand brakes...
I love using them specially when driving stick shift cars up some steep inclines with stop signs :)

all that would be fine with me. That compartment only houses my pen and driving gloves...which...go in the "glovebox" lol so mainly fabrication would be the biggest hurdle. Switches could go besid it but they'd be accidentally flipped by elbos prolly...
