I've got a 97 Intrepid ES and I'd just like to know where all the heat shields are located. I know there's two on each side of the engine (left and right), I've taken off a couple of rusted old loose ones but there's still this good rattling noise and I know its a heat shield, or some sort of shield. Just like to know where they're all located thank you.

It may not be the heat shields. It could be the accesory belts. As they age, they sound exactly like sheets of metal rattling together.

Tried doing it.
Maybe I didn't hit it hard enough but there was no rattling sound.

I'm gonna stick a piece of wood for a quick spin around the block later to find out if it's one of the heat shields in the front by the engine.
If it's not and the cat is fine, what else could it be, got any ideas?
