My buddy has a 1998 V-6 Intrepid and thought that his car is all that.
Nice interior, great leg room, excellent trunk space.......but it wasnt made for speed! :D

The first kill was a few months ago in my 99 Stratus. The best one was in my 90 Laser (DSM) that was the other day. Talk about laging behind......WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to have beat him by 4 car lengths, I mean I thought the intrepis could go faster than that....! Oh well, at least its a Mopar ;)

Hmm..given the numbers above, there is little doubt the Laser could beat an Intrepid of either generation. But, considering the stock for stock numbers of the Stratus, it is a few tenths slower in the 1/4 and 0-60 of all Intrepids except for the first generation 3.3L.

Ahhhh, but I dont own the V-6 Stratus.
The 2.4L DOHC 4 bannger is just as powerful as the V-6, but is lighter. Also, my Strat is mildly modded.
The trepid is the 1st Gen V-6 with a intake.

I know the DSM will take it no matter what, and she's bone stock.
On the strat however, I have a thermo-wrapped bored header, 2.5" free flow cat, 2.5" Mandrel bent cat back (no resonator), Borla Boomer muffler, DS intake, performance plugs and wires (Black lighting carbon fiber ignition wires and Bosh +4's), a few weight reduction mods, and the TPS mod (good for reducing a few tenths of a second on your 1/4 mile time).

Anywhore, I posted this on here cause my buddy is a member, and I thought this would tickle his pickle :D

Im not sure what a Trep's axle ratio is, but a Strat has a 3.91 ratio

Strats are tugboats, Treps are the oceanliners

Haaaa, no!
The Big mighty Johnsonville Brat :D

I was refering to Jhrody's numbers with the addition of my current mods (I feel I'm in the 190 HP range, only bolt on's). I feel more than confident to take any Intrepid (asumming its naturally asperated or all bolt on HP like me).

One more thing that baffles me!
We all talk about beating car A, car B, Honda this, Acura that, but you all have bone stock cars with heavy systems installed!

Car Audio and Apperance mods dont add HP (unless your a ricer), they only slow you down.
You have huge cars (weight and size) to begin with, and a very resrictive automatic trannys, and not a huge amout of HP/Tourque.
The K&N Filter adds so little HP, most people just say it gives better gas milage.....thats about it. Please fill me in on how you are cheating the laws of nature?

Not all apperance mods add weight. You can get better looking rims that may actually be lighter. :)

Numbers for the R/T (stock of course)
Horsepower: 242 [email protected]
Torque: 248 [email protected]

As for cheating the laws of nature, well that's an easy one. NATURE IS MY *****!!!! :D
