Hey, I'm calling a junkyard that has a 300M OTIS. I told them I also need the harness, I just want to be able to tell them how it runs down from the ceiling so they can give me the harness as well as the OTIS... does it run down the driver's A-pillar to the body computer in the kick panel from the factory?

Thanks!

Nevermind, just found it on another post. I just ordered it for $75.00 from a junkyard in TN.

The guy on the phone told me has another one. So if anyone wants one, give me a yell and I'll give you his email address/phone #. It is from a 300M.

Did you manage to get the harness with your OTIS? The harness looks INVOLVED.... meaning installing this without the harness would be "fun" to say the least. :) Tons of connectors to plug in.

When are you installing your OTIS? Let me know I want to head out to you and watch you put it in. :) Im gonna need some help with mine. :)

The guy said he is shipping it out tomorrow via UPS. So I probably won't get it until early next week (??) So maybe next weekend you can come over here or I can come out there and we can hook them up together?

Sweet. Did you get a wiring harness to go with it? Also do you know what color yours is?

I would assume that even though it came from a 300M... its an OTIS cause the OTIX (or EVIC whatever u call it) that has the Menu button, i am not sure that one would work on your SE.

From what everyone says, it shouldn't matter what engne you have...it goes by the calculations that are made via the PCI bus. The guy said he would send me the harness, so hopefully that will make life easy.

The harness should only have 4 wires or so shouldn't it? There's a power a ground and a wire for the PCI Bus. And probably a seperate wire for the lights? All the functions for the OTIS should be running through the PCI Bus wire right?

Also, one other question...does the outside temp run through the ambient air temperature sensor in the engine compartment or is it a seperate one just for the OTIS? My brother told me the newer one's (I don't know if he meant 2000 and up or just 2nd Gen) uses the ambient air temp sensor that is used for the engine and does not use a seperate one specifically for the OTIS Again, if all calulations are done via the PCI Bus, I don't think it has a seperate one.

???

Also, if anyone is interested, I am selling my Gentex compass mirror in the "Sell Your Stuff" Section. I don't need it anymore. :)

Oh, sorry DJ...the color is tan. I think they are all tan since we all have tan headliners....right?

Sorry mlfca...he said he only had 2. But here's number for you to call: (800) 456-8144. I just got an email from these people at S&J Used Auto Parts in Saratoga Springs, NY. They say they have the part, but didn't quote anything on the email for a price. Good Luck! :)

Isnt my headliner like a grey? I dunno i guess it doesnt really matter.

And about the engine... it doesnt matter what engine you have... but I know the only way you can get an EVIC to work with all the special features is to install it on a 2001 R/T. Something about the computer was changed on the '01 line... I believe Otto said this a few months back, but i am not sure. I guess I never really paid too much attention on what works and what doesnt cause i have the 01 R/T and I know i can use any console out there.

Hah, since you are helping me out... ill supply the beer. Yeah next weekend I am free. Ive had this thing sitting in the back seat of my car for the past month, it would be nice to finally install it. :)

Besides, if it doesnt work... you could probably ebay the console and get 3x what you paid for it. ;)
