i was comming home from alittle trip i did and the speedo and tach stopped working(still lite up) along with that came the check engine light coming on(i checked there is no codes) and my security light coming on ,any ideas? fuse?(crossing fingers),thanks guys

checked fuse 14 and it looks ok ,car runs fine(except for a low vibration)also when i come to a stop the fuel guage goes way down and then when i give it gas it goes back to normal

Have you done anything to your dash lately? Remove the guages and maybe they didnt seat all the way back in?

if the engine light is on, there has to be codes, Cycle the key to the AUX(not completely on) position 3 times and tell me what numbers you see come up in the ODOMETER section.

You may be turning it too far.. there are 3 positions...Aux, On, and start.... its the first one. If you dont see Lines across the screen and the word DONE, then you didnt do it right.

i tried again and nothin comes up ,i went from putting the key in to where the pump turns on three times ,andn othing no lines and it doesn't say done

was the LAST position AUX, or off? It should be AUX.

You might have a PCI bus communication problem with the cluster. Without the PCI comm the BCM can't send out the information to the odometer display. It's either your cluster is failing or you have a bad connection. I'd remove the cluster and clean the connections and then reseat it.

yah looks like i will have to pull out the cluster and see whats what but i'll do that next weekend ,i think the car is fine to drive or seems to be ,jsut gotta make sure i keep the gas up lol,romeo if i need a new cluster i will get one off u (i have autostick) if i swap out clusters do i still keep the same km's? ,thanks for help guys so far

Mileage stays the same regardless of the cluster you put in. That information is supplied by the BCM. Good thing you stated Autostick and I take it your cluster is in KPH as the primary reading and not MPH like here in the lower states?

anyone else , i did look down atthe engine and a wire from the fans was getting chaffed by one of the belts but i doubt that has anything to do with my problem

just talked to my mechanic he said it could be the instrument cluster or the bcm , i took out the cluster and it seems like everything is fine

I have to put my 1999 2.7L in Neutral before the key code sequence will work!
