I went to get some tranny fluid at the dealer and parked out front was a new Dodge Ram truck with a sign on the rear flanks that said Hemi engine......have they started putting the Hemi's into the trucks already?

Yup.

Its not standard, but it is an option.

The 2003 Ram 1500 regular cab SLT is bold and powerful with features that make it a head-turning performance machine. Its 4.7-liter Magnum(R) V8 engine generates 235 horsepower
....
For even more power, opt for the 5.7-liter HEMI(R) Magnum V8 engine that generates 345 horsepower.

I think they should've used that Charger showcar body (the one that was supossed to run on NG) and dropped that bad boy in there....woulda been a cool retro-car!

I'm pretty sure the Hemi is standard on the Heavy Duty 2500/3500 models, but it's an option on all the rest (including the 1500)...

Yes it is. The 5.9 has been dropped ,the new 5.7 Hemi is the up grade from the 4.7 V-8. In the 1500 class pickup`s i think DC started building them In Jan of 2003.
