Hi,

I have a question. I read an older post where it was stated that stock horsepower numbers for the 3.3 were 153 (or somewhere close to that) in 93, and 161 for 94-97. Is that right?? Is there a 3.3 High Output that has a different figure? I always heard the 3.3 had like 214 horsepower. Is this wrong?? I always thought the trepi came with 3 engine options: 3.3, 3.3HO and 3.5? Anybody have more info on this??

the 1st gens had two engines. the 3.3 made 153 from 93 to 96 and made 161 in 96-97. the 3.5 made 214 from 93 to 97.

'93 is the only year the 3.3L made 153...'94-'97 made 161...or so stated the LH cars timeline someone posted a while back

Oh yeah, and on the subject on the 3.3L H.O., i have never heard of such a motor. As far as i know there is only the 3.3L and 3.5L 24 Valve OHC

Not that I dont trust you guys, but can anybody show me anything official that says the '94 3.3 is only 161hp?? Thanks again!

**** man, if you're not going to believe people on the board when they give you information, don't ask questions. Why would we lie to people in our own community?

If you need "offical" proof, e-mail DC, visit your local dealer and ask or scan through back issues of auto magazines.

man...check whatever you want to. carpoint.com is a good place to start. they've never lied so far. call DCX if you really must. maybe you should go on the prowl for a brochure or something. personally i wouldn't waste my time, though, seeing as how the correct numbers have already been made exceptionally clear.

I didnt mean to offend you guys, its just that a friend of mine who also happens to own a '94 trepi with the 3.3 refuses to believe that it only puts out 161hp...I just wanted some concrete evidence, thats all. Thanks for your help and I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

the 3.3 isn't OHC< it has a cam in block doesnt it?
