Just was wondering how much prices are affected by where you bought your car....(large metro area, small town USA, another country, etc.) I live in Omaha, NE and I paid $12,500 for a 2000 base intrepid with 30,000 mi on it last November.
On top of the terrible service from the dealership, I pretty much got a bad deal overall.
'99 base model with some extra options
(leather wrapped steering wheel, leather shifter, slightly upgraded stereo with a-pillar speakers, power drivers seat) for $14,900 with 29k miles last october. I talked for a loooong time to get the price down but all I could squeeze out of them was tinted windows. If it wasn't for this dealership being the only one at the time with a '99 in my price range (the rest were '98's with too many miles or '00 for too much money), I would have gone somewhere else. I still owe ~18 grand on it and my bank's blue book estimate is 15 grand... so I can't even refinance it yet to get a lower intrest rate.
Full load except the full size spare on a 2001 Intrepid RT.
Leasing rate $575.00/mo. taxes of 15% included. Therefore 500.00 /month.
Dealer paid off my last month lease payment on my prior vehicle, a 98 Transport and gave me $250.00 to fix a dent.
Retail sticker price...$34695.00 and with the big spare...34895..and in inferno red 35095.00
That is all in Canadian Funds in the cap city with a regional pop of over 1 million souls.
I think I got the deal of the year on my new intrepid Found it covered in dirt in the back of a dealer lot. A 96 3.5L with 64900 miles on it. Amythyst with a pearl coat. I think its called wild orchad. Walked out the door with a one year payment plan for 6900. As is. Since than I've cleaned it up and wow, its really clean. Found some unfortunate hail damage here and there but the hoods perfect and none of it shows up to the layman. I want to really sport it out so I'm doing all the mods. I've added a rear spoiler and tinted the windows. It's starting to be worthy of a internet pic..hehe.
Bought my 93 ES off my uncle at 81,000 miles for $4,000. That was in April.....after tax, title and license and all that other crap it came to around 4300....it was in extremely good condition for 81k miles...and if it matters, they were mainly "highway" miles...whatever that means....
my parents bought (i was only 15 at the time) our 97 sport in early 1998, well after the 2nd gens were out. they wanted a 2nd gen but this was the only 1st gen left on the lot and the guys were pushing it hard. after trading in her dumpy 93 taurus and doing a little cajoling with the dealer we drove it out for 14k. it had 5 miles on it. it was dumb no to take it, considering the 98 es they wanted was 25k sticker. i think they got the best deal ever.
I purchased my trep 2 years ago. It is a 97 ES 3.5 with all the goodies (CD/Cassette, Moonroof, Leather, Autostick). It had a little over 50k miles. I purchased it for 13,500. I think that was a little high but, it is worth every penny.
got my '94 in july 134,000mi. for $2,250.
somrone had bought it and kept it 8 mo.
and then turned it in, broken seat and all.
it sat there on the back line four months and the manager was happy to let it go for what he had in it. new seat $100 and a little tweaking, and i love it!!
2K R/T! White, convenience group, smoker's group (I don't smoke, but for $20.00 will not argue), full spare. $25,860 list price, $24,058 invoice price, paid $23,800 after 15 minutes of very cool, very nonchalant barganing! 0% financing is the best part!
I love this car!
