Got me a 2004 Se Trep and thinking of the cheap out (for now, till I get some more cash) on wheel upgrade.
I am thinking of painting my wheel covers to match my car (light almond pearl)
and the inset parts with Duplicolor Mirage Ice.
Anyone have experience with painting the plastic wheel covers? I am thinking of using the adhesion promoter rather than sanding. Paint the whole thing base color then mask the inset paint the inset the ice color. Am I insane for this?
Comments, critisms and general snide remarks always welcomed.

Painted wheel covers? Hmmm....probably not something I'd do. Save the money and time youd spend on that project and put it away for some wheels! :)

Oh...and here, have some rep!

Dudley gets rep!

Probably not a terrible idea, as long as you don't let the wife drive it and get curb rash on them! :bigcrowd:

1. Wash with something that will remove brake dust, such as Orange Blast available at walmart.
2. Sand with 220 grit sandpaper (or something close). <-PREP IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!
3. Spray lightly as many coats as you feel is needed.
4. Spray with clear coat (optional)
