So between work and college I been taering apart this 2.7 and found out why it failed. I thought the wife running it low on oil was the problem. Ok so this was a one onwer that traded it in. then sold to a mom and pap dealership. They had the timming jump and bent all the intake valves. And instead of buying a new timing kit they went to a junk yard they owned pulled heads off another engine and used the only timing chain and the tensionor from the heads they pulled out the yard.

Which IMO was really stupid, now how I found all this out is the guy they hadstaffed to do all this type of work for them had dropped one of their business cards and it got smashed between the bottom of the block and head gasket. I called the owner told him what I found and what I think happen and yepper I was prettty much dead on the money. Which he said was kind of freaky, well since he is best friends with my uncle and now knows my uncle is going to find out how he did me. he has agreed to give me 1500 to go towards the rebuild. So this has wroked out pretty good for me so far.

So I have already ordered all new cams, pistons and rods, valves ex/in, vlave springs, lifters, rockerarms, waiting on his money to get the rest and the head and block work done. Got a new tranny from this guy I know for 500 he had bought it for his wife comcorde and the day before he was going to put it in she got hit in the rear by a semi. He just wanted to get it out of his shop and free up the room. So in the end I should have pretty much a brand new car.

Oh yea was bored and a buddy and I polished the inside of the exhaust manifolds lol I know right pretty funny. We also port matched and polished the heads. That turned out really good.

Man talk about a knucklehead cheapskate hack "mechanic". Glad you got that mess sorted out.

So a one-owner doesn't do you much good if the next guy is a hack.
