Well, she is in the dealer for repairs. And I wont get her back till friday!

Turns out that the stupid little auto shop couldnt do anything and told me to take it to a dealer [update: she overheated last wed. ... no problems at all the last 15k ive had her, and all of a sudden she overheats, It must have happened within a matter of minutes kause everything was fine, and then I pulled into a drivethrough and BOOM the temperature started to shoot up!]

so at first I thougt it was my water pump, but then i realized that it wouldnt be so sudden. The dealer said I had many electrical problems, and the head gasket had a leak... Luckily, the warranty [36k, starting at 99k on the car, thought it was pretty good] is gonna cover it. However the dealer said it needed some radiator hoses, and the ac belt, and another belt. I said I'd take care of those on my own. But they are gonna replace the thermostat and gasket.

Do ya think I could ask them to port and polish the heads!! lol. I dont think the dealer can do that kind of work. Kinda sucks though kause they got em off.

Also, what about hoses and belts? Is there any kind of upgrade, ones that last longer?

In the end she gets a new head gasket, and a new PCM under warranty. Hopefully all will be well now!

Im also looking forward to putting the cone filter on there with a brand new pcm. Mabey it will react better. but it has the airbox in there so the dealer doesnt get mad. ill put the cone on as soon as i get it home.

warlord - yea thats the way it happened to me. I was driving along just fine, and i pulled up to a taco bell drive thru, and looked at my gauge and it was right next to the H!!

Mopar - yea thats what i thougt too, but it happened nonetheless. I dunno how, i cut the engine as soon as it happened, I guess not soon enough.

some joker on moparchat.com told me that these cars don't have a head gasket. how could a car not have a head gasket? but the whole reason it came up was because a few guys had reported problems with a gasket in this vicinity, and the countered that it didn't have said gasket. could it just be known by a different name? unless he was talking about a different engine...but still, wouldn't all engines require a head gasket?
