My trep was a pain in the ass when I got it...

steering rack went, door seals, badges (ok that's nothing but hey, they were all chipped), heater blowing heat when it feels like it (have to go back  ), had to take it in 3 times to get some working intermittent wipers.

and today! my mom neon (she bought it exactly one week after I bought my trep (bought the trep oct1, neon oct7) was acting weird as per my mom. She said that It was in gear but it neutral. So she took it in... diagnostic... clutch blew... WTF!?!?!??!?!?!? the car have 4400KM (2700miles for you my buddy from the south) on the clock!!!!! Don't tell me my mother don't know how to drive a manual... she did 245,000km (150,000miles) on the original clutch of her 1990 colt 200E.

When I took her car 2-3 days ago I thought the clutch was weird, it felt like it was slipping when I was shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd... but the car is new so I tought I was wrong...

I guess I was right

DC is officially off my car list... when the warranty will be over , beleive me the trep will be outta here and I think it's going to be the same with the neon.

I'll go back to the rice burning jap cars.

I don't blame you one bit. My mom was so disappointed when I bought my Dodge. She had always had Toyotas and then decided to get a Shadow Convertible, and the tranny went out on it twice, first time at 30,000 miles (had to pay for it herself cause it was past 3 years already) and then again at 68,000 miles and it's sitting in the garage dead. If anyone knows me mom, they'd know that my mom would be the last person who would have tranny problems. It takes her 20 seconds to go from 0-60. She's one of them people that tries to merge onto the highway at 45 mph. She was so granny-like to the car too. She's also had numerous other problems with it. She went immediately back to Toyota (Rav4).

IF I were to drive a Jap car, it would have to be the new 350zx when the twin turbo hapens. If I could find a mint one, an early 90's 300zx twin turbo is just the thing. I used to have a 1986 30zx turbo - nice...

Sorry for the whorey double-post :D but I've been giving this more thought and have to weigh in on DC...

We've had a 1998 Intrepid, a 2000 Town & Country and now have the 2001 Intrepid and 2002 Jeep. All of these vehicles have treated us EXTREMELY well and been very reliable.

I understand DC is making som echanges so I am a little uncertain about the future. If my feeble memory serves me correctly, the main designer left. I think the Mangum and other stuff that was at show recently is FUGLY.

I hope they do OK.

I don't know what to say to all of you haters.

I guess I should say "sorry to see you go" and all that other stuff, but I do ask kindly that you not turn into adaptabl and MoparPerformance.... who come in here all the time to just say negative stuff.

Let's talk more about the positive things about our cars..

There's been enough negativity on this forum recently.

Steering rack, door seals and badges are well known issues on the Intrepid and, in my case, the service people at Chrysler have been very nice about them and fixed them under warranty without any fuss. I can see why the number of problems you had is getting to you though. However, I've seen people with problems on their import rides too. We've had MANY Mopars in the family and only one really shitty car. I guess these things happen. But I'm still sorry for you pal and I knock on wood when I say that I haven't had any major problem with my Trep yet...

I am on my hands and knees praying for an engine or tranny failure for you... Just cause people talk about their problems you just automatically throw them into this "haters" group.

You ought to get a job for Chrysler as their #1 cheerleader

Okay.. I'll do that if you get a job with one of their competitors and speak all day and night of the ills of Chrysler.

Oh yeah... and I hope your car breaks down too.

Wishing misfortune on someone is very cruel. I was just returning the favor... but I hope you're happy with yourself for wishing bad luck on to other people.

It must make you giddy with glee to always belittle and berate others on this forum who like their cars by always whining about why you don't like yours and how you hate theirs.

In that regard, I can think of only one word that best describes you: sadistic.

I don't really care who likes and who hates whatever make/model automobile. I do have a problem, however, with people who don't own Intrepids yet continue to post their negativity here. I also have a problem with members who own Intrepids but wish they didn't (alderran, for example) and can't stop telling the rest of us, most of whom don't care in the least, about what a stupid decision he/she made. Those types of free speech are really intended for a different venue.. one that would be more productive.... like, say, an Anti-Intrepid forum... or the feedback section of MoparPerformance's silly website (if it had one).

Well today my mom got her car back... i'll test drive it tomorrow. i'll see if the clutch feels like it was before it was changed.

At least our delearship isn't 5 stars for nothing. took the car in yesterday, found the problem, ordered the clutch, got it this morning, changed it this afternoon, got the car back.

at least that's good service.

It is hit and miss when buying a car. You just never know. All cars have problems and some have more than others while some a lot less. Even if you take care of your car very well doesn't mean you will ward off any major problems. I have had some odd things happen with my other Dodges like an ECU going to the crapper and a blown turbo on the '85 Lancer. Wheel bearing issues were frequent with my '90 Spirit and it had that 3.0L valve seal issue. My R/T has a top end that has had issues with cracking heads in the past. The Trep has been OK thus far minus EGR, headlight brackets and crap like that. I new a guy that had a Nissan Sentra and his fuel injection system was shot at 100K. He also had other issues with his car and got a Grand Prix to replace it. That too has been less than perfect (you couldn't convince him that  ). My parents owned three Cutlas Cieras in a row and this last one has eaten up more money in repairs the first year than the other two did combined over the entire time they owned them. Basically, you just never know. All cars are going to need repairs. The trick is not to end up with ones that need the major repairs done. Since no one here is a psychic, I say good luck to all of us.

Oh, here's some light reading:
