I really like the Magnum... if I ever decide to get rid of my Intrepid, that will be my next car...er, wagon. One thing I DON"T like though is the cheap lok of the Interior. It looks really plasticky, especially the doors. They could've at least put some carpet on the lower doors, sheesh.

I know I noticed that all of the interiors they're designing now feel really cheap and "cold", too futuristic "wannabe". I am used to the LH interior and I think it's really well designed. On these newer cars it looks like they were build for rental companies.... :frown:

Last week I had use of a rental "300" Silver with the 3.5L, cloth/plastic interior, old-man suspension. Not overly impressive*. At my destination I parked behind a 300 SRT8...sweet. I stepped up to check his interior... aside from leather and the steering wheel it was all the same cheezy plastic interior. Even the center dash had the same (silver w/black dots) plastic applique.

*seemed almost like it had 'turbo-lag'. Couldn't get descent throttle response, once she got rolling it was ok but my R/T would've been a spec on the horizon by then.

I dunno what the hell you 3 are talking about cheap and cheesy plastic interior. I just bought a brand new 2006 SXT, and I think the interior is great, and of good quality. Its thick and durable. I like it.

I just traded my 2005 Magnum r/t in for a 2003 300m. I liked the interior to be honest and loved the telescopic wheel. But my M has both cruise and radio controls on the wheel which the magnum did not. Just the radio. And that freaking cruise control stick in the magnum was a nightmare. I know it's a benz thing but I hated it.

Really now

You had no problem with the cruise stick at first and it was easy to understand? lol OK. You get used to it yes. It's a 4 way push and pull stick. That's a bit extreme for cruise control don't you think? Besides the fact that its behind the wheel and not always the easiest tool to operate, the only indication that it's on is a very small light in the stick itself. With the trep and M no pulling or guess work involved and everything is in plain sight. Makes life much easier IMO.

No; I had no problems understanding it; especially after the salesman explained it. All you do is push it in on/off, and follow the arrows on the stick. I dont think its that big of a deal, and it definetly isnt a big enough reason for me to trade it in. I can understand if you had a major problem with it working, or some other major prob with the car, but just because they changed the controller for Cruise Control is no reason to trade in a brand new car on a 3 year old. I can understand not liking change, but making a big deal on a minor change as this; is quite rediculous. If you generally like the car; you learn to adapt to the minor things you dont like about it; especially with the price of these cars. This just goes to show that you have more money than brains, or just plain NO COMMON SENSE!

Oh and the little light isnt the only indicator...If you look at the dash; under the RPM gauge is a light cluster that has a indicator that lights up; its a symbol of a gauge. That tells you that cruise is on, and set.

2 things

First off Dave I said I liked the Magnum interior. There were a few things like the cruise control and the controls on the wheel I like better on the 300M as I stated. I never said that was my reason for trading in the magnum Dave. You should read before blowing your top over a matter of opinion. I do not like the cruise control stick dude it's retarded as far as I'm concerned. And just for kicks the SXT is a complete waste of money IMOP. No comparison to the R/T. Now I'm not going to call you stupid because you have done a well enough job of that on your own. Look forward to hearing back from you.

Oh, how dare I forget one thing; it didnt have the controls on the steering wheel for the radio...EXXCUUUUUSSE ME! :icon_roll You still traded off a car that had nothing wrong with it, and you only had for a few months; for a rediculous reason! :ugh2: Thats why I said you have more money than brains!

Dave I never said why I traded the Magnum. It had nothing to do with controls on the wheel. The topic was the Magnum's interior. I just gave my opinion on it. The things I liked and the things I didn't. My trading in the Magnum for whatever my reason is, really has nothing to do with it.

Thats the way you made it look, so what is the real reason you traded it in?

As far as the interior, the main thing was referring to was about the doors and how on alot of new Chryslers they are so plain.... no carpeting or fabric on the lower or upper parts. Just looks plasticky.... but hell, I still want an SXT Magnum .... I could really use it's versatility. Just right now my Treps almost paid off and not sure I want to dive into more car payments.

I kinda like the fact that there isnt any carpet or fabric on the doors. It has less of a chance to get stained, and easier to clean. I think the interior is great!
