In January/Febuary of 2002 The Brampton Assembly Plant will begin Production of The Dodge/Chrysler Intrepid Police Vehicle.
Special features of the Police Car Include:
-240km/h certified speedometer
-severe-duty cooling system for high temperature, high-speed performance
-external engine oil, transmition oil, and power steering coolers for high temperature, high-speed performance
-four speed transaxle w/ overdrive
-column shifter
-heavy-duty, four-wheel anti-lock brakes
-heavy-duty cloth front bucket seat with manual lumbar adjustment & vinyl rear bench
-160 amp high output alternator
-100 amp battery power feed to trunk
-ground stud in trunk
-domelamp deactivated
-rear window inoperative from rear seat
-rear inside door locks & handles deactivated
-"stealth mode" switch that turns off instrument panel cluster and radio indicators and dims PRNDL to lowest legal limit for stealth pursuit

I'm kinda curious about the "stealth mode" thingee. Are the dash lights all that noticeable that they would have to be dimmed?

If you are following someone at night...if you don't have your headlights on, you aren't going to have your dash lights on...right? So, if your headlights are on, they are sure going to see you anyway!

To bad the public didn't have access to some of the parts, they are police issue only! I am sure some of the 2nd gen owners would like some of that stuff.

On Sun. the 23th (i believe) when the Olympic torch came through our city (Phila). the was an Intrepid police car out there. It was whithe and had similiar markings to our police cruisers but said Daimler chrysler (did i spell that right) on the sides...
