Seems like a good price for that type mileage. There is some concern that these 2.7 engines can have some sludge problems if not maintained perfectly. I would probably have a trusted mechanic drop the oil pan or the oil diagnosed to see if there are any signs of sludge. It is not uncommon for these 2.7 engines to die with less than 50K miles if not religiously maintained.

If the engine comes out clean I would suggest switching to synthetic oil and then you should be in good shape and that is a great price.

yes religious synthetic for the PID as i dont have u to take risk on a 7.5K investment and for me on a 15k investment ( in 2001 jan ) i still bought a extended warrenty for 75K just to be on safe side...!!

seems reasonable. I'd get a 30 day carfax subscription and run the vin on that or any other car you're looking into. Also, check kelly blue book at kbb.com for pricing. After market warrenty is not a bad idea either.

yea, i paid for an eagle warranty on a 97, aqbout 400 for 6 months unlimited mileage... gives me piece of mind... especially since my mechanic uncovered a small problem with the oil system
only thing is... most warranties don't handle non-durable parts on the braking system... calipers, shoes,, rotors, drums, etc... i had to replace mine after only a month of driving, to the tune of $400
take it to a mechanic first before you buy and have them inspect it...

It is so simple to say, but so very few actually do take their car to a mechanic. Most people think that their mechanic is the place that they bought the car.

It is true, with the newer high tech engines, that there are less and less places that can truley tell what is what on a new car, but if you can find one, become that persons friend, for they will help you out alot when the time comes to look at a used car, and you want to have it checked out.
