Tonight while cruising around my Perfect stopped working. I pulled it out of the box when I got to a friends house and the area around the tinsel lead looks burnt and the box smells like smoke too, one of them is disonnected from the coil. Not to mention this is the second subwoofer that has done this, both times connected to a JBL 600.1, putting 300watts RMS into them, gain about 3/4ths of the way up and bass boost almost topped out. What the hell happend? I know this amp isnt too powerful for them, and it's now out of warranty so I cannot exchange it again, I would like to try and repair this thing, as I love this subwoofer and would like to get another. Damn my need for bump...lol.

You've toasted the voice coil. Sounds like you need to turn the gains down and turn the stupid bass boost crap off...
