I had a thought...
Maybe someone can contact Kenne Bell, and see if they will come to the International Meet, and do PCM's at the meet.
Maybe have them offer a deal for group purchases??

Anyone think to contact them?

Perhaps the same thing could be done for Carlisle.

Someone want to contact them??

If the PCM is in the car, you'd be surprised how fast you can flash it.
If they have a DRBIII, and a laptop...they can flash a PCM in 5-10 min's!!

I sent this e-mail to Kenne Bell this afternoon...
Let's see what happens.

Hello,
My name is Tom Romans.
I am contacting as a Board of Directors Member of the 300m Enthuisats Club (300mclub.org), and a member of the DodgeIntrepid.net club. The Dodge Intrepid club is planning their International meet on May 13-15 2005 for the Chicagoland area. Both their membership, and some of the 300M Club membership will be attending this meet (me included). I am contacting you to see if you would be interested in attending the meet as a vendor to offer the Optimizer II's during the meet. You could offer Group Pricing, and I know there would be a tremondous interest in this. Here is my contact information should you want to contact me for any reason:

Please let me know is you are interested.
There is a huge potential here for both Kenne Bell, and the club memberships to mutually benefit from this arrangement.
Thank you for your time.

Sincerely

Tom Romans

Yeah I was just joking! It's just that 01redMS's picture of his Intrepid looks like a Neon M/S Edition or maybe one of those HotWheels with the giant wheels and tires!

I really doubt that it would in any way be in the financial interest of Kenne Bell to dispatch an employee on weekend salary, plus airfare, and lodging plus carrying all of his expensive equipment to attempt to sell, at a reduced profit margin, an item costing $350 when so many there are attending on a shoestring budget.

I know if I were at the receiving end of the e-mail I would decline.

You are prolly right, but you can't blame a man for trying!!
Besides, some companies might jump at the chance to do this...if for any other reason, to get some exposure.

If all they do is flash the PCM and thats it...its probably not worth that much that they are asking for anyway.

I think i just did....whats wrong with what I said?

Lets see, I plug this in here....flash is done...can I have my 500 bucks now? Isn't worth it IMO. Although if you wanted a performance 300m I suppose you could justify spending money on it.

Gorm,

You somtimes amaze me. What is wrong with what you said you ask? Well, let's start with the fact that it is incredibly naive and shows very little consumer saavy. You are perfectly justified in stating that the performance gained is not worth the price for your car in your opinion. You are way out of line when you try to correlate installation time to value.

It takes just about as much time relatively to install Microsoft Office Pro or Adobe Photoshop or maybe AutoCad yet the people who pay similar sum (and much more for AutoCAD) seem to consider their purchase very worthwhile. Have you ever stopped even for a second to consider R & D costs, development costs and testing costs? Maybe you would PREFER a chip? There are plenty of 29 cent resistors for sale on Ebay? No R&D costs there.

This year when I file taxes I will have a 1099 form for income earned at Capitol Raceway for earnings raceing at their track. I have earned over $1000 at various tracks last year alone. Without the KB I would not have earned more than maybe $200.

How about that big screen Plasma TV? It only takes you 15 minutes to carry it from the car to the house and set it up. Should it therefore be reduced to $50?

End of rant.

Like I said. In my opinion its not worth it. But I don't like my car being all that fast...mostly for the reason that it can't be, its a 2.7 lets not forget. I can see why people like you Don want to do it. However In my opinion...it’s not worth it.

Its just my opinion…If you want to have your car flashed...go ahead.

Back to Topic...

I was thinking about the same thing, Is KB OII worth $350. But if you are really into cars and care about the smallest difference (gain), then you should go for it. Several members including myself have lots of stuff put into our cars that we dont even use. I have 4 LCD screens, hardly watch DVD. Have a fridge, pizza oven and all kind of stuff that I dont use. Its just personal satisfaction. As Don mentioned KB OII was a great help to him in drag racing. I am thinking of doing the KB O II as soon as I get some $$$. BTW Tom, did you get a reply back from KB guys. What did they say, are they gonna be a vender at the DI meet or Carlisle.
