I killed a 80's El Caminio that looked to be in good condition in my 02' 2.7L. I was a car and a half length ahead. He tried to beat me to merge ahead. I got him.... I tried to race him again at the next light but he didn't want no "2.7L Magnum" (Jokeing about that)

I'm guessing it wasn't the 454SS that you raced.

Yeah right, I have 500HP Hemi in my 2002 Trep.....!

Probably a V6 or standard V8 I assume.....

I don't think there were any 80's El Camino's that were SS' w/454's.... or even SS'?

Biggest engine offered in the 1980's El Camino's was the 305 HO rated at 180hp and 250lb/ft of torque.

In the 60s and 70s the El Camino and Ranchero (Ford) were as powerful as any other muscle car, some even more so.

Oh yeah, my dad had a 70's El Camino for a while with a Chevy 350, it had some guts even though the engine wasn't in the greatest shape. It like used to belong to some gang members or something (had a chain link steering wheel) (ghetto), he got it cheap and was working on restoring it, kind of restored the engine and tuned it up, put some racing stripes on it and stuff. It was cool.

My friend's dad had a 60's El Camino, that thing was pretty nice.
