Well, since so many people have asked what the LED scanner is, here is a picture of it.

I just got it in the mail today and haven't installed it yet.

I'm thinking of putting it on the back of my rearview mirror. SOme of you may think this is stupid, but I think they look cool

i have seen these led scanners on a few cars. now how does this work u just install it and thats it or can it be hooked up to your alarm? becuase i seen a car with these things on and he didn't have an alrm just opened it with a key. thanks for the info?

It can either hook up to your alarm, or, if you don't have an alarm, it says it can be hooked up to tell when the ignition is on or not...

It's a line of 7 LED's that scan back and forth in different patterns...

The purpose being? Is it just a visual thing? Does it actually "scan" for something?

Nope, just an alarm indicator that looks cooler.

Mainly got it to match the blue neons that I'm gonna be adding soon.

I have one of the blue ones. They look rad at night. My first mistake was putting it in the tint strip of the front windshield. Make sure you install it just below it.

Then, after it's installed, be sure to order vanity plates that read "KITT".

Just curious, isn't it illegal in some states, or is it only for when it's parked? I know when i lived in atlanta, it was illegal to have a blue light of (any) kind in your front window while driving. Is it only for the alarm?

It will only be turned on when my alarm is armed.

So.....if you're behind some slow poke, just hit the panic button on the alarm! The slow pokes will hear the siren and see the blue light, and should freak them out enough to pull to the shoulder for you to pass!!!
