mine were bought through an "America's truck wash" parts counter, they are direct plug-in replacements for the factory 3157 bulbs and each have 15 led's

I'm not sure if the first gen cars are teh same but my taillight bulbs looks exactly the same as factory due to the angle of the bulb and the reflectors, oh well, the front blinkers look great and all my bulbs have lifetime warranty

They have them at Parts America (aka Advance Auto Parts) for $9 a piece. A little pricey, but I am sure it's worth it for the lifetime warranty. They are the APC brand lights. If they don't have them in stock, you can order them and have them in the next day for no additional charge.

Are these lights legal??

And do they light up brighter than the stock halogen bulbs in the rear?

I bought mine from American TV's Install Center (they do sound system installs).

They carry all sorts of stuff, but I get employee discount for wholesale cost.

You get two (2) LED lights in the pack.

Very cool lights. Unlike the APC, they have LED's in the middle instead of just the outer edge.

Has anyone thought of making a set of tail-lights like the ones on the newer Cadillacs? If anyone finds a set of tail-lights that they want to get rid of I will be glad to buy them from ya. I want to attempt a full LED tail-light. LED's are cheap especially when bought in bulk. And they will practically last forever.

What do you think of that idea and has anyone attempted it?

Well, this is what I would like to do. I would like to convert my tail-lights to an all LED setup. I would like to outline the perimeter (including the middle piece from far left to far right) with LEDs. Inside each tail-light, I would like to spell out "R/T". These would be lit when I have the head lights on (or just the parking lights or fog lights). Now when I go to hit the brakes, the whole tail-light (including the center part) would be lit up (for safety and visibility reasons). I think that would be sweet as hell. Talke about originality! :)
