My sand rail has a 3.3 that I built heavily with eagle h beam rods and hypereutetic pistons, I dropped the compression to 8.1-1 and running 20psi of boost running alcohol. I need to find a cam that gets rid of the overlap and is more suited to a turbo setup. also any advice on valve springs would be appreciated.

Can Am's used a dual spring setup that Can Am used. Crane Cams told me it would work with the Roller lifters. I'll dig out the info.

Also I know of the only "Turbo" cam ever made for the 3.3. I'll get hat info as well. How much you willing to give for one (has about two hours maybe of time running on it?)

I am aware of this cam. I talked with you about 2 years ago about it before I figured out all my mods as listed in sig...don't know I never really got the info on it and my account got deleted. so here I am with a lot more mods then I think have been completed on the 3.3 and yes I am very interested in it. well lets start with a 400$ offer on it and negotiate from there.

as far as valve springs please let me know what you can find. I don't want to have a float issue and smack a high dollar piston.

The Valve Springs the Can Ams use are Crane Cams #99893-2. I know the Shelbys ran up to around 7500 rpms. If they will work I don't know. I also am unaware of the keepers and retainers used on these. I believe the heads were cut to accept these springs however. I can get photos of the Shelby Heads if you want.


Cam Specs far as we know,

Intake & Exhaust
-Lobe ctr sep = 110.9 cam deg
-valve overlap = .5 crank deg

Intake
-Valve opening = .2 BTDC
-Lobe ctr = 108.2 ATDC
-Valve closeure = 39.7 ABDC
-Duration = 219.9 crank deg
-Max cam lift = .31059 in
-Net valvelift = .46589 in
-Lobe area = 23.85 in deg

Exhaust
-Valve opening = 46.2 BBDC
-Lobe ctr = 113.6 BTDC
-Valve closure = .2 ATDC
-Duration = 226.4 crank deg
-Max cam lift = .3176 in
-Net valvelift = .4764 in
-Lobe area = 24.97 in deg



Dave Says $250 for the Cam, and the lifters that it came with. And also wanted me to offer that he has a NOS 4.0 Crank if you wanted some more power.

Sweet how do I get ahold of him or get the ball rolling? As far as the crack is it a 4.0 stroker? I think I'm getin close to the limit of the trans so now I'm looking to fix some hiccups caused by the stock cam get the fueling right and maybe get it to spool a little sooner but I don't Wana risk throwing a buch more power at it and my rods and pistons are already setup for the 3.3 crank

I know this post is old, but could you post what parts you are using in your engine? I'm curios about the compression and your piston setup. What was the pistons and rods you were using?
