I am getting ready to take the rims off of my 1993 Pontiac grand Prix ( see rim picture below) in tribute to a reliable car who's transmission death still shocks me. I really want to keep the rims in tribute and am wondering if I can use the original lug nuts from the Grand Prix or by new ones. Also, the Intrepids rims are 16x7 while the grand Prix's is 16x6, will it be compatible?

Your intrepid's rims are 1 inch wider than the pontiacs. so sizewize, your intrepid's wheels has a little more traction on the road. What you really want to look at is the bolt hole placement and centerhol diameter. these could be different. to check this out, measure one bolt hole to a diagonal bolthole from center to center. if they are different, these rims aint gonna work. tirewise you could probably mount the intrepid tires to that rim no problem.

if all the holes line up, I dont think the lugnut choice would matter as long as they are both the same size and thread count/pitch.

just my $.02

The rims will work fine, I used grand prix wheels on my intrepid, the hub and lug spacing are an exact match

If you have the grand prix lugs with the black plastic covers I would recommend going with an aftermarket set instead of using those again.

agree with Joe on the lugnut issue. Get a good set of black nuts that will look better than the cheapo plastic deals.

On a side note, if the Grand prix wheels fit the Trep, then my oldsmobile wheels will fit and vice versa...Will file that little tidbit away for future reference.
