Hey

I just put some Marvelous mystery oil in my 3.3 to help some of the knocking I had, I read that it can help, has anyone tried it in thier Trep? If so how did it go? What sort of time frame am I looking for concerning improvement?

Cheers

The stuff has ben around forever, I have never heard a bad thing about it, so im sure its not going to hurt anything.

I have see this stuff quiet the noisiest motors before from a very tired GM 3.8 v6, to a Chrysler 2.2 with the infamous worn cam.

Used the stuff in my old 1992 Aerostar before the trans gave out. I had a couple sticky lifters and a lot of noise, cleaned it all out and quieted it down within 72 hours. (Granted I drive approx 20-30 miles a day.)

F Y I: Did you know that Marvel Mystery Oil can also be added in the fuel? Supposedly a small amount will help lube the pump, collect water, clear the lines and, clean the injectors! Jeeze, this stuff fixes everything!
I have used it in many of my engines and have had good results everytime. Somehow in all of this High Tech crap we're surrounded with, this oldie but goodie works best!

i know a guy that used to put a tiny, tiny, tiny amount of tranny fluid in his crankcase to clear up sticky lifters. let's just say i'm not gonna rush out and try that one.

I know some people that put a whole quart of tranny fluid in the engine to clean it all out. yea, I won't do that. I just changed my oil with full synthetic 4 times in the last 3000 miles. it really got clean.
I use an Oil additive called 'Hy-Per Lube'. This last oil change, (after the new headgasget) I put a quart of the 'Hy-Per' lube in, then filled the rest with Mobil 1 15W-50. Quieted the engine down a tremendous amount. also, used a quality Napa Gold (Wix premium in disguise) Filter, so now I don't get any rattley noises when I start 'er up. (filter does a good job not allowing the oil to drain backwards.)

probably anywhere, the stuff is pretty universal...used that stuff when i put the mercedes into storage...poured a cup worth of the stuff in each cylinder (thru the spark plug holes), then turned it over a few times. just to keep the cylinder walls, etc. clean from crap it would get from sitting in a barn 10 months out of the year. ive heard stories of that stuff saving siezed motors! (in four-wheelers, that is. some kid i know HAD an old honda fourtrax...ran it w/o oil, it siezed. the kickstarter wouldnt budge. poured a bunch of that marvel mystery in the cyl head...turned over fine. cleared ouit the excess oil in the cyl, put the sparker back in, and continued to kick the crap out of his machine.

Wow, seems everyone has had grand results from this stuff, since I put it in my motor it has shut the knocking up about 90%, I really have to listen hard to even hear it now... I must admit I am a bit aprehencive
about putting it in my gas tank, but if it does the job I`ll do it.
