Minnesota meet, perhaps Mall of America

2470 Views 50 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  RapidTransit
Many midwesterners have expressed interest in a Minnesota meet, with the most enthusiasm, gearing towards going to the Mall of America. A group pic on the top floor of the parking ramp would be sweet. We could also go do the Nascar Silicon Motor Speedway. Just some ideas.

Who is interested?

Who can't make it to MOA but could make it to Saint Cloud?

We now have seven that are pretty sure about being able to come, and another 5 that might be able to come. Not everyone gets to DI-net very often, sothe numbers may go up.

It seems the weekend is surely the best time to meet at MOA, does anyone prefer Saturday over Sunday, or vice-versa?

What we should do, is have everyone post dates they are available.

I'm good for February 9th and tenth for sure. The 16th and 17th I THINK will also work out for me.
I think Saturday would be the way to go. Gives out of staters and people who live a distance away time to get home and rest/recover.

I'm game for the 9th, my wife and I are planning a get away for the weekend of the 16th. :)

Who all likes the 9th?
Sat the 9th good for me. I think sunday the 10th is the Daytona 500 my ass is going to be in front of the TV. Go number 40 the silver bullitt.

saturday the 9th looks clear to me. only thing is it's gonna have to be early in the morn, maybe 11 or so. i cannot stay overnight and probably would look to hit the road around 4 or 5pm.
Lunchish would be perfect.

Yup, a getaway. :) We have a hotel booked (Best Western Edgewater) in Duluth for Feb 14-16.
My Calendar is clear on the 9th of Feb.
these things always land on bowling weekends for me. :( probably going to be in the lovely city of Whitewater, bowlin with the college team.
Ahh well, always next time
So is this a definite go then for the 9th? Someone set a time and whatnot so we can get the green light on this thing. :)
Well, here is what I think:

MWIND* DodgeIntrepid.net Meet

When: Saturday February 9, 2002
Time: 12:00 noon
Where: Mall of America, top floor West Parking Ramp. (Between Nordstrom's and Macy's)

*MWIND stands for Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota.

I'll be bringing my video camera along, and perhaps my digital still cam.

I well be there the 9th. I hope the weather will be good like this weekend 45 to 50 deg outside.I love the green house effect in Minn in the winter time.

The Edgewater is great... far north end of town, perfect for cruising up the North Shore. My family and I have practically adopted Split Rock Lighthouse (which is quite stunning in winter - I might add)

But I always park in the East ramp... Oh well, I'll have to adapt. :D
Is there anykind of reststop or someplace someone that knows the area can meet me at so I don't get lost trying to find it, and possibly take me to a car wash? ~Thanks :)
so I don't get lost trying to find it
You can't really miss it. Here's a map (I hope):
