Yeah, I'd like to know what you ARE gonna power all that junk with.....I'm thinking that a Nuclear Power Station will probably work.....javascript: x()
Big Grin

And Night Rider is right, Sony is just junk, if you ARE gonna spend 20 or more grand on your car, make it quality stuff.....my buddy blew his Sony amp a month after he bought it....

And to get rid of the brake dust, get high quality pads, or even get the expensive ceramic dustless pads.....those are sweet but expensive!

6,000 watts? how many amps does each one draw? sony is crap, but ur talking a lot of AMPS, u'd prob be better off running a second alternator setup, a seperate batter, and evenn stil u might need to run caps. question - y run 6x9? they are made for poor mans bass, with all that other crap in there u won't even know the 6x9's are there. save a few bucks and forget them. are you also gonna insutlate teh windoes etc so u don't blow them up?

Unless you plan on taking your windows out and replacing them with plexi glass lol. What is the purpose of the system SQ or SPL? Personally sony stuff you isnt bad but isnt great either. To draw that much current youd need a 10 farad cap, 2 optima batteries, plus your engine batt, a 250-350 amp alternator, which would load down your engine if you had this thing cranking while driving. You would have to run a 1/0 wire. you are talking lots of amps. figuratively speaking P=V*I, now were not considering the internal resistance of the amps but the amperage you would be pushing is 6000W/13.8V = 434 + amps. That is way out of the league for the power system in any intrepid. you would need to get a new alternator, 2 new optima batteries, 5-10 farad cap. running 19 subs or whatever is outrageous for glass windows almost. bascilly unless you are a professional installer you wont have much luck attempting to do what you want to do. anymore questions just ask me.

for the amps i would go with the new "D" series MTX amps or the RF Power Punch amps.

As for the interior trim...heres a pic of what i have done...the plastic pieces just pull off and i used a couple coats of red spray paint and a layer or 2 of clearcoat.

Yep MTX amps are great. They are very underated. One very cool thing is the spec sheet that comes with them. It tells your S/N ratio, rms power in different modes, THD percentages. RF are good, they tend to be pretty effiecent which is a good thing.

Have you ever tried Scosche installation kits? their model CJ1278 is not as recessed as such brands as metra. plus it has a cool cd holder built in. This is the best fitting one i have found.(i have tried 3). Its like 14.95 plus 4 bucks for shipping. www.scosche.com

I will have pictures of my system in about two weeks. I'll try to get a picture earlier of what what head unit looks like with that kit if i can find someone with a digital camera.

if u want a really good system go with hcca orions the best on the market.they put out 1000 rms watts while most speakers put out about 200-500 rms dont look at total watts that dont mean ****. as for an alternator u wont need that just get an optima in the front and in the back with a i fared cap. it will do trust me i have all that and more running off that.

wait, first off they don't put out power, power is derived by the formuals P=V*I, P=(V*V)/R, and P=(I*I)*R. you can have a 300w rms sub that out performs 1000w sub. sensitivity, the volume of air they play in, and cone area are what will make a sub louder than another. because it says it handle 2000 watts or whatever doesnt mean it is louder just possibly much less effiecent than a sub that is like 750W rms

What would you like me to restate? If there are any questions about something I said earlier let me know. I actually get to test and design circuitry for amplifiers as part of my major. Don't be worried about getting technical.
