When I bought my motorsports RT it came with all the yellow letter eagle ones on it....plus a brand new never used full-size spare w/rim. To make a long story short, all the tires are pretty well worn.....and I had been planning on gettin them replaced real soon, but, I just wopke up this morning and my rear drivers side tire was flat......I was like WTF, so now I must find something to replace my beloved yello lettering with. I just don't feel like anything else would look right on those black rims! Fellas, I know they don't make the tires anymore, I was just wandering what my options were, I read somewhere on the site where one guy got a goodyear tire.....and put yellow paint on it! Could I do that, if so...what kind of tire was it. NEEP HELP:mg: thanks guys

You could just go with white letter tires like a lot of people around here do. And if you really can't stand it... paint is an option...

I would not worry if they are white or not. My car tires are all black and I painted the letters with a silver. Just have to repaint them after about 2 months or so(if you want to keep them looking good). I use a testor paint but thier are sticks that are sort of like a wet chalk that are made for tires that you can buy.

goodyear still makes those tires, just with white lettering instead of yellow
I don't think they come in anything larger than 16" though. At least that was the last I had heard. I haven't followed it since I have no interest in them though. Also, other people have had some limited luck finding old stock of the tires at Goodyear distributors. You should check around your area. You never know, you might just get lucky...

they only explode when you run 26 psi in an SUV tire going 80 MPH down the road...
You are so right, but do you think people would look past the finger pointing and look at the real reason why those tires exploded? Chevy had the same tires on their SUV's, and yet none of them exploded.... I could go futher with this issue with proof. but I'd just stop here with my 2 cents...

thank you...and the explorer wasn't at fault for them overturning...i couldn't tell you how many times i heard the news say that "when the tire blows out on the rear, sometimes it brings that side of the vehicle to a sway, THEN THE DRIVER OFTEN OVERCORRECTS, and the vehicle rolls" now how is that the vehicles fault that people can't drive, i liked car and driver's test of blowouts on an explorer, and at 70 mph, they blew the tire out, and the guy took his hands off of the wheel while it was slowing down, and it didn't overturn

I have Firestone tires and they're some of the best I've ever owned. Too bad some people won't buy them because they automatically believe everything they hear on tv.

I remember seeing a thread about the tires with yellow lettering a while ago. It seemed that the only place they could still be found was Tire Rack.

Arg, it was only that one model of tire that exploded. Get over it.

For the yellow lettering, you can get yellow paint for them.
get ready, there's another big recall in the works, same problem for the most part.
