I am not sure if I am right on this one but: I think the 205hp 2.7L is the rating for the one they put in a select few ES Intrepids. The 200hp is the 2.7L in the SE/base Intrepids. Someone correct me if I am wrong.MoparPerformance said:2.7L is 200HP, some rated it initially at 205HP, 190 Foot Pounds of Torque
Actually they corrected this later on in their article. Always helps to read the whole thing.MoparPerformance said:WTF!!?????? 2.7L does not put out 225HP or 225 Foot Pounds of Torque...........!!!!
Man did they make a mistake.......... They're talking about the 3.2L engine or perhaps didn't look at the engine and thought they're ES had a 3.2L.............
Moving all this requires some horsepower. So for 1998, Chrysler gave its LH cars two new all-aluminum twin-cam 24-valve V6 engines. Base cars use a completely fresh 2.7-liter unit, that generates 200 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. While ES-grade cars get a beefier 3.2-liter engine, making 225 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque.
