Man did they make a mistake.......... They're talking about the 3.2L engine or perhaps didn't look at the engine and thought they're ES had a 3.2L.............

2.7L is 200HP, some rated it initially at 205HP, 190 Foot Pounds of Torque, I have heard 200 rated by some over the years but it's definately not 225/225. Maybe my 2.7L will be doin this after installing a chip and a throttlebody mod, definately not stock.

Don't these guys ever go to the manufacture's website to verify this stuff.......?

Hey MP, I have that one on tape and every time I watch it I think, wow, my 2.7 sure never ran that quick. He does say it's a 2.7 during the show and gave the 'Trep a stellar review. They like mopar, though and usually give them a fair chance.

I am not sure if I am right on this one but: I think the 205hp 2.7L is the rating for the one they put in a select few ES Intrepids. The 200hp is the 2.7L in the SE/base Intrepids. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, the probably meant 3.2L, I think this was done when they first came out way back in '98.

Actually they corrected this later on in their article. Always helps to read the whole thing.

Moving all this requires some horsepower. So for 1998, Chrysler gave its LH cars two new all-aluminum twin-cam 24-valve V6 engines. Base cars use a completely fresh 2.7-liter unit, that generates 200 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. While ES-grade cars get a beefier 3.2-liter engine, making 225 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque.

Unlike the Concorde, the Intrepid doesn't offer a bench seat

I'm pretty sure that last time I looked mine had a bench seat... They aren't available in an ES, but you can get them in a SE
