Yo :)

I went up into the foothills of the Silicon Valley here and I took some pretty pictures of my 96 ES 3.5L and took them home and blurred them up a bit to look more... "aperatured" and focused on the car or whatnot. Well yah. here are the URLs

enjoy, and compliment/insult me please.

what kind of paint did you use to do the intake plenum? also, how do you take that thing off? do those 4 allen bolts remove the part that you've painted or do you have to remove the entire contraption?

that car looks SWEET. the color is awesome. in fact, i'd be willing to believe that your car is almost as shiny as mine after she gets out of the wash. :D

I just went out and bought some "Engine Enamel" high heat 500 degree paint, comes in a spray can, most auto stores have them, that's Ford Red, heh, blasphemy I know, but hey, I like the color, even if Ford's name is on the can, but yeah, those 4 Torx bolts take off just the (now red) engine cover or intake plenum whatever you want to call it... I read that they put those torx bolts in there to discourage people from screwing around with their engine that don't know what they're doing, so obviously if you bought some torx drivers you have some idea of what you're doing under the hood. I just removed the panel, covered the letters and numbers with some masking tape, cut VERY CAREFULLY AND PAINTSTAKINGLY around each letter and number's tiny edges, then sprayed it down, along with the (now red) wire trough on the lower left side. Now the two air conditioning caps (olive green) are also red, I need some more time to fiddle and find other things to make red, then I'll take a picture or two more. So yeah, that's as shiny as my car has been in a while, but I only waxed the hood and the trunk and the driver side fender/door, I got tired and lost my motivation since. Plus I just had a thunderstorm here so now it's FILTHY!!! :(

My '96 trep is that color.. but yours just looks so much shiner! doesn't that color rock though? in the dark it looks blood red.. and in the sun it lightnes up a bit.. almost like... magenta where the glare hits it.
man. Nice Ride.

Yes I agree... although when I first was given the car by my dad, I wasn't too excited about the color, I was never one for red cars, because I like the tail lights to stand out a bit more, but this has grown on me... very much so. I was flipping through the dodge website and I think that color is called "Inferno Red" correct me if I'm wrong, but I beleive that is the manufacturer's name for it.
