Looks like I have one TPMS Sensor crapping out that started today. No reading on the EVIC. Tire Pressure is OK.
To order a Shrader or Denso Sensor? Decisions decisions! I've had good luck with both. Shrader is $24.79 and Denso $34.79. They look identical. Mopar is $63.79....all from RockAuto.
Find out what was factory (OEM) - and then find out if it needs programming.
The reason is this - I'm pissed - 3 days after having the car from the Mom-Pop dealership - TPMS went out. I bought an Autell TPMS sensor from Amazon. $30. Paid a local used tire place $25 to get it installed.
I thought the computer would 'pick up' the signal. Nope - It has to be programmed by the Autell system. Sensor has to be close to the program module. Most likely tire has to come off and no air pressure to program. or the sensor has to be placed on the programmer.
Autell is a lesser known brand - made a bunch of local calls - nope - tire shops really don't have that programmer.
I called around to get prices - most are $150+ for removing the tire, new sensor, and programming it. Using a sensor that they can program.
I've been driving 4+ months with the tire light on. Not certain of I want to pay that money - most places said they'll use the factory Sharder sensor...
Something to think about. that light does bother me. The tire holds steady air pressure - bad sensor - bad attitude from me!
