I just received the parts for my U-Connect mod today from a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan from Salvage yard in Troy, Texas. I found the items on car-parts.com and contacted him directly to confirm that it was in fact the U-Connect Mirror. He checked and sure enough it was the right one.

I asked him to send the Mirror, module and the two harnesses. What I got was a Mirror, Module, Satelite receiver, and the cables were cut six inches from the mirror. I also found that the part numbers for the mirror and module were slightly different.

1. Mirror p/n 5064018AD Previously posted 5064017AD
2. Module p/n 5064022AP Previously posted 5064022aQ

Is there anyone that has run into a similar problem? I have to order the cables and I don't know if they will be the same part numbers that were posted here.

I have no idea if this will connect to my RB1 so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I have dealt with a guy that was recommended by others on the 300M club site. His name is Junior and he works for Musselman Dodge in Baltimore, MD. I just gave him the part numbers so I should hear in a couple of days what they prices are.

Do you have a source yourself?

No updates so far. Still waiting to find out if the items that I got will work the same as the part numbers on the forum.

These are all the parts that I have purchased. Could one or some of the members that have done this mod tell me if I have all the parts, or if there might be something missing?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

What are the part numbers on that wire harness and control box ??
What year and vehicle did they come out of ??
The way I understood how this mod worked is you need 1-mirror, 2-wire harnesses and 2-control boxes.
But of course I could be wrong! ! !
It looks like you got the right mirror, 1 of the wire harnesses and 1 of the control boxes.
Again, I could be wrong! ! !
I have had a hard time finding the right parts for this mod also.

I had the same trouble but I got some help from another member.
The part you will need is the wire harness that connects the control box to the radio, the correct part number is 4869206AB.
Good luck and thanx for taking pics. I'm sure that will help out other members who are trying this mod.

Thank you very much for sending me this information and especially the part number for the harness. I may actually be able to get this mod installed.

I'll post back when I get it together.

Thanks

No sweat brother, your welcome.
If you need it I know of 2 places where you may be able to get the wire harness.
This is one of the mods that is really worth the effort putting togather. I spend half my day at work in my car pulling over to the side of the road to answer phone calls. Yeah this mod is just what I need!

Thanks you for sending these names. I checked the site and the second on is actually cheaper and located in Oregon which is a lot closer to me here in British Columbia, Canada.

Why would I laugh about you being from VA? I must be missing something. The guy I use in Baltimore is named Kevin "Junior" Viel and he works for Mussleman Dodge.

5717 Baltimore National Pike
Baltimore, MD 21228

I got his name originally from the 300M club board and have used him for just about all of the parts that I have ordered. His prices seem to be very good and his shipping charges quite reasonable.

I have an e--mail out for him on this harness so hopefully I will get an answer at the beginning of the week.

Thanks again for all of your help.

Just as a point of interest. I went to my local dealership yesterday to get a price on this harness. He quoted me $150.00 CAN plus taxes, bringing the total to $168.00. I have checked a couple of the US parts sites and prices range from $60.00 to $70.00 US. So even though there is the exchange and the shipping I still come in at approximately 1/2 of the cost to buy it here from my local dealership. Now you know why I purchase all my parts from the US. Also, there is no duty on auto parts to bring them across the border............ Enough said.

I just got my Uconnect up and working this past weekend and this is one of those mods that is very well worth the efforts of putting it togather. If you use your cellphone a lot, like I do at work this mod is a life saver! I can listen to the radio or CDs witout worrying about missng a call, I dont have to try to dig my phone out of my pocket while driving to get or to make a call and it works even with the navigation system running! The sound is GREAT, you can talk in a normal tone of voice, you dont have to yell at the mirror and you can keep both hands on the wheel.
Thanx for the name of your parts guys in Baltimore. I'll see what he can do for me on the Sat/Radio parts which is my next mod project. My 'mirror to module' cable has those yellow connecters on it which I think are for Sat/Radio.
I case you know of anybody that needs one I have 2 Uconnect mirros with the rain sensor built into them, they came off Jeeps. I have 2 Uconnect control modules and I has 3 wire harnesses that I think are for Sat/Radio.
Anyway good luck with your set-up. I think you will love it once you get it hooked up.

The first time that I heard about the option I knew it would be one that I had to have. I contacted my parts guy in Baltimore and he said that he had the part and that he would get back to me on the shipping. So it shouldn't be long now.

I actually bought my satelite unit from him as well some time back. Good luck.

Hey CAPTAIN ...................... I finally received the cable that you recommended and I think that I am more confused now than ever. The 4869206AB harness that I got has two connectors on it that look almost like optical connectors. There is no where on the 56040974AD Module that I have which would accept such a plug. It looks like this mod has come to another complete halt........

I have the 5064017AD Mirror, the 56040974AD Module which connects to the mirror, and the 4869734AC Harness, which makes that connection. I believe this came out of a 2007 Grand Caravan and was told that I was sent all the parts. [Who Knows.] The harness has one extra plug on it which I have no idea what it connects to. The way it comes off of the module plug wire, it almost looks like it would plug into the back of the RB1 but I can't be sure......

Others don't seem to have this much difficulty putting this mod together, but for the life of me I don't seem to doing something right.

Any help, suggestions, or information would be greatly appreciated at this point.

Thanks.

DUDE,
I went through the same thing and I thought I had the wrong cables then to find out I had the right cables all the time.
First, the long cable that goes from the mirror to the Uconnect module, then the short cable with 1 square plugs on each, one black and the other grey. The black plugs in the module, the grey goes to the RB1 where the CD changers (use to) plugs in and that is it. And then of course the CD changer plugs into the Uconnect module.
Now the long cable from the mirror to the Uconnect module has a small grey plug on one end that looks as if it might plug into a Sat/Recvr module or something, this is on the end of the cable that plugs into the Uconnect module. That plug is to power the cable. On mine I cut the plug off and spliced the wires to the cig lighter wires for power.
I have a RB1 question that you might be able to help me with. I cant 'SAVE TO ADDRESS BOOK' any more and I would like to delete all of the phone numbers in the PHONE BOOK that the previous owner had saved. Any ideas ??
