Anyone hear anything on the new Bosch platinum+4 spark plugs. I saw them on their web site and they look to be pretty good, however they run about $6 a piece. Does anyone know if they perform better seeing as how they have 4 tips instead of the conventional single? I am thinking of trying them but I'll probably need good wires to go with them and Bosch doesn't offer a wire set for the Intrepid as of yet.

me and rarewolf had a discussion about this awhile back. i beleive it was allpar.com that had a passage dealing with platinum plugs...apparently they don't hurt the engine but they wear out very quickly compared to copper. i've never used them so i don't know from experience. personally, i'd use champions or something more traditional. as for the splitfire and +4, i highly doubt that they give you much, if any, gain, for the same reasons jnutz gave earlier.

I also heard the +4 plugs are worthless. I read somewhere that in comparison runs regular Bosch platinums or regular copper plugs for that matter were faster at the strip. Also the 2nd gen Intrepids do not have spark plug wires - they have direct coil on plug ignitions.

They are useless. I had them in my Avenger for over a year (giving them the benefit of the doubt) No increase, but I did notice a decrease in acceleration and the idle was a bit on the rough side from time to time. Since then I switched to Coppers and the problems are all gone :D
