I am a new owner of 1999 Dodge Intrepid. I just had to put into the shop...seems the crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor. Is this year or particular make of this car known for blowing up sensors? It is costing me aroun 631.00 dollars to repair. I love the car and don't want to get rid of it (since I paid in full for it).

Thanks, M

a # 1 - what engine do you have?

sounds like they are chaging you too much. the cam position sensor you can do real easy yourself, its cost about 59.00. the crank sensor is a little more involved but not much - ill let someone else comment on that.

in general given the age of your car and if it has typical miles, than you are going to go through these issues with this car. its just the time for these things to wear out. its really basic maintenence though.
