Greetings.

I'm new to this forum, coming over from a Caddy forum, where I've owned 3 STS's in a row.
This is my first Mopar product since my 1999 Cirrus ... I had good luck with that car, so my fingers are crossed this time.
My 2004 Concorde LXI is champagne, full load, chrome and tint.
It only has 50'000 miles, with lots of warranty left.

Drives nice ... the 3.5 obviously gives up power to the Northstar, but hopefully
is less prone to head gasket issues.

My other car is this 71 Cutlass Supreme. Lots of fun with the 350 rocket
burbling under the hood.
I'm sure I'll gain much from this great forum ... hopefully I can pitch in
and contribute occasionally.

Regards,
Ted.

Welcome! Nice lookin' lxi! My Dad had a '94 STS and my Mom still has her '99 STS, only 27k on it. Both pearl white, but the candy apple red and black ones were my fav...

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Truth be known, I'd stick with the STS's, except I can't afford a low mile 2003 or 2004 STS. I really wanted warranty.
My last STS, a 1999, had about 120k on her, and was really showing her age.
The smooth ride was gone, and the previous owner had peformed some sub par accident repairs ... which didn't go well with our Canadian winters.

Here are a couple of pics of my 95 crimson pearl, 97 diamond pearl white, and 99 crimson pearl.

So, am I likely to find the 3.5 motor fairly reliable?

The 3.5 should be found to be more reliable than your Northstars. This is a good solidly built engine from most accounts. The tranny might eat a sensor or two along the way........but nothing $50 won't fix.

Nice Cutlass! Nice Concorde too. Caddys, my best friend had an Eldorado of about the same model year as your pearl white STS. I recall it being in the shop alot, But it was a sweet ride. (and it would get up and go!)
Yeah the 3.x motors are pretty reliable. Mine is anyway...

Welcome to the site.

I've only put 10,000 miles on mine since I bought it and have had zero problems so far. Only time will tell how reliable it will be. So far I've changed the oil 3 times, each time I found the level to be exactly at the full mark before draining and suprisingly clean.

When you get to 100,000 miles change your timing belt and water pump and you should be happy with it.

I think so !! Do a search of the 3.5 1st Gens, alot of them like mine have a ton of miles on them. Tonight mine's at 165,433 Miles. :icon_bigg But, do get that timing belt and water pump changed before 100,000. Also keep some good clean ATF +4 in the tranny. If you ever get the tranny serviced, just make sure they use ATF +4 in it. Anything else will kill it. Good looking car by the way !! :biggthump
