Seeing that last thread that dodint so graciously closed made me think of posting this. As most of you have probably noticed this little section is now moderated by dodint and myself. So if there are any threads like the last one of back and forth name calling or "**** throwing" so to speak, they will be closed. I think we can express our opinions and thoughts with out calling each other "****" just because you disagree with what the other person said. Thanks for taking time to read this.

Maybe not, RapidTransit... but I think their point is very well taken; no offensive terminology, period.

I know of many terms, slanderous to both straight and gay people, but I don't use them because it's the smarter thing to do.

I find the terms GOD and RICER objectionable, since we are on the subject. Some one posted "no offensive terminology perdiod". My question is by who's standards are you going to impose this rule? I am not offended by the word "***", so I must ASSume someone made some kind of complaint about the use of the werd "***". Fine and well, butt where does it end?
Should there be a censor-bot or sumthin to delete such words from all postings? Maybe there should be a thread where people can post all the words they find objectionable and a list can be made of censored words. So someone got thier feelings hurt cuz they were called a ***, they are a **** or whatever. Political correctness does not work, didnt you notice that? Everyone finds something offensive and sooner or later you wind up being the hypocrite.
Are all sexual preference references being censored or just the the word "***"? Actually I dont use the word *** when posting so it wont make much of a difference to me. I just wonder how long it will be before more words/phrases are censored. Censoring doesn't help much because theres ways of cheating any system.

We outa have an "Other Car" forum for all the chat about these new vehicles that have nothing to do with LH vehicles, whether they're DiamlerChrysler vehicles or not.

Any troll posts get deleted or locked immediately. There's no need to have another 50+ reply thread to what we had in "INTREPIDS SUCK." Who cares, so delete it.

Don't use '***' at all. We have at least one person on this board, to put it as correct as I can, that is alternative. He (or others) don't come here "pimping" his lifestyle; but just talks about Intrepids with us. If you catch the word "***" in a post, edit it, and re-term it, or don't use it at all.

As Chris18 put it, this place is turning into Stratusphere, in a bad way. Instead of bashing people's mods and their efforts into their LH vehicles, accept it, compiment it, or if you don't like it, sthu. Constructive criticism is cool on how to make something better, but saying something like "Why'd you waste your money/time on that sh*t?" does make people think twice about our group as a whole, and maybe prevents them from posting here again or coming to meets we have because someone said their car sucked. I've been guilty of doing this, and now I just keep my cake-hole shut because I wouldn't want someone saying that about my car.

Finally, the boards don't need all the "HEY PERSON NAME" posts. You want someone's attention, use the private message system or email them.

Just ideas on how we can clear the smoke a little and make this a little friendlier to everyone.

I don't believe so. Most of the mis-posted topics are LH in manner and are easily moved. Any other car talk that's done here can stay IMO, hence the term 'general discussion.' If the incorrect content is moved out, those relevant discussion will stand out.

I did delete it. It was my first act as a moderator. I'm surprised it stayed up as long as it did. I've only been a mod for 2 days, as I mentioned above.

I feel EXACTLY the same way, but I wasn't going to act on that yet. I didn't want to thrust to much on you all at one time. Now that it's out in the open, i'll be locking those also.

I don't moderate to piss people off, p3 and I are here to help. After the initial breaking in period things will settle.

I have a question

Could you make a list of the rules some where so I dont screw up by breaking them then looking like a total ass. I can do that last part quite well on my own, thank you very munch.

Well, just reading through this thread you can come up with a few rules. Most of which are common sense, but I can see how that would be a problem for you Rob.

• Consider the people you're conversing with. Certain words are unacceptable in most situations. Racism and other forms of discrimination will not be tolerated. Post will either be edited or deleted.
• Trolling will not be tolerated. Threads will be locked and/or deleted, and the I will recommend to Intrepid99 that the user be dealt with on a higher administrative level.
• Post in the proper forum. It's not that hard. Threads will be moved.
  
  That's about it. That's not too much to ask, is it?
