1997 Concorde LXi. 3.5 liter

I had my plugs and wires replaced last week. The car came from the factory with the wires for cylinders 2 4 and 6 going underneath the coolant hose. The dealership ran the new ones over the coolant hose. Either way, the wires are pretty much in contact with that coolant hose.

I asked the dealer. The mechanic who did it says he just always did them like that to differentiate the ones that were factory original from the ones that had been replaced and that it didn't matter at all either way. The dealership offered to move them beneath the coolant hose if it bothered me. I told them I'd get back to them next week.

So...your opinion....Does it matter?

I agreed. The mechanic said he just liked to do it like that so any mechanic who saw it would know they were changed. Either way, they are directly touching that hose, either below or above. I think it looks crappy either way, to be honest. Those are bulky cables

It's a good sign that you have an interested mechanic. There are many who just go through the motions.
